Ph and Reacticity

Okay so i was wondering, can pH be used to aid in the determination of the reacticity of metals
basically there are questions like these
What properties do metals seem to exhibit?
Do all metals behave the same?
Why was sodium not included in the metals to be tested?
Can you see any connection between position on the Periodic Table and properties
of the metal?
How can you use pH paper to verify your reaction?
Does it matter what acid is used? (HCl and sulfuric acid)
etc etc... especially unsure about the pH question
any help would be great thanks
