They only give 50s to people who get 120/120. Sorry.
-
35/40 and 69/80?
-
SACs: Strong cohort, high ranking (MHS)
Exam 1: 37/40
Exam 2: 77/80
-
hey guys, I'm not really aiming that high, my main goal is to get about 30-32 or something raw.
I'm ranked about 4/5th in a strong cohort, and I think I may have got 36/40 for exam one. I screwed up the exam today in several places (some of it was just too "fiddly" and I think I may have got like....60-65/80 :(..
So yeah..just wondering if this is still enough for a 30?
thanks

-
ranked 3rd behind Paulsterio and Luffy (geniuses...)
Exam 1: 40/40
Exam 2: 75/80
can i get 46-47?
considering luffy's dropped a few marks on exam 2, i've dropped 3-4 on exam 2, you might just come out on top of us! :P
but yeah, definitely 46-47, although you said you were only aiming for a 40 raw! seriously =.="
-
A+ Sacs in a medium cohort.
Exam 1: 36/40
Exam 2: 72/80
Thoughts?
-
what study score am i looking at for 39/40 , 70/80 and A+ sacs? 44 is too much to ask for isn't it? can i still get a 42 though?
-
Hey guys, there is no student advisor at my school anymore as we are not the best.
So I was really hoping for a prediction on this forum:
100/100 A+ SACS (Medium Cohort Rank 1)
35/40 Exam 1
78/80 Exam 2
Is 45+ on the cards...
Also, was this exam harder or easier than last year's?
-

i would think so. xZero got a 44 last year with an A for exam 1 as well. don't fret
-

rank 1 or 2 in a decent cohort
38/39 for exam 1
what about
a 70/80, 72/80, 74/80
NEED AN ANSWER!
how harsh are calculation errors? eg forgetting to divide by g for the final answer where the method is correct.. -1 or -2? (the m1, m2 question)
-
sorry posting so early

man im just real lucky they were easy exams.. before exam 1 id pretty much given up on spech cause I was losing like 5-6 marks just by not answering questions..
and for the amount of work ive put in this year.. I seriously dont even deserve 40+.. spech was going to be my 7th subject which I would do for pride :P
but im sure if I did this well on the exam, you only did better. so im expecting 48-49 from you and luffy :P
-
how exactly to you know what rank you are in your cohort/school?
-
i would think so. xZero got a 44 last year with an A for exam 1 as well. don't fret
Do you know xZero's exact scores? Or how many marks he lost in both?
100 SACs
40 Exam 1
78 (79??? doubt it though) for exam 2?
48-50, I'd say 49.
-

how exactly to you know what rank you are in your cohort/school?
well paulsterio's teacher is head of math at our school so told paul his rank and paul saw mine and luffy's rank as well..
if you go and ask your teacher (nicely ;)) im sure he/she will give it to you.
or you can take a guess by comparing yourself to the others in ur school.

40 maybe?
-
Hrm, I think I got 119/120, and was rank 1 in my cohort. Is 50 possible? Does anyone know how many people did spesh this year?
They only give 50s to people who get 120/120. Sorry.
Not true, only ~2 people have gotten full marks in the last few years in exam 2....
-
Exam 1: 37/40 (fml)
Exam 2: 80/80
Rank 1 in an average cohort
-
if you're not ranked in top 10 in a strong cohort, but you full mark both exams? (maybe -1/-2 leeway for working but all answers right thus far :|)
-
i checked the solutions :(
top 10 cohort
40/40 exam 1
65/80 exam 2
40 maybe?
i hope so mate, cos i'm in a similar position with 38 on the first exam and around 69 (;D) on the second exam, and i think that should be close to a 40 on the dot. Maybe at worst a 39?
-
Exam 1: 37/40 (fml)
Exam 2: 80/80
Rank 1 in an average cohort
That's defs around a 49 maybe 48 depending how unlucky you are =p
-
hope me and mattshen get lucky and scrape a 40
please vcaa be nice to us (A)
-
Exam 1: 37/40 (fml)
Exam 2: 80/80
Rank 1 in an average cohort
50 is possible, happened in 2009 to one of my friends.
That's defs around a 49 maybe 48 depending how unlucky you are =p
-
Oooh do me!
38/40 Exam 1
76/80 Exam 2
Ranked equal fourth (81% average) in an interestingly distridbuted cohort of roughly 12 (those at top are VERY strong while those at bottom struggle)
-
You guys do all realise that last year, the difference between a 45 and a 50 in spesh was quite minimal, 45 -> 50 and 50 -> 51.6, essentially 1.6 aggregate points, this year, with the predicted higher scaling, the difference would probably be even narrower, so in the end, the difference between a 45 and a 50 would probably be around 1.4-ish aggregate points, which means that it probably won't make a huge difference to your ATAR, probably 0.05 if you're in the 99's so, don't feel to disheartened about dropping a few marks here and there, it won't amount to much in the end!! :)
-
Exam 1: 37/40 (fml)
Exam 2: 80/80
Rank 1 in an average cohort
that's an epic exam 2 score, considering only around a handful of people get full marks for it every year, I would predict around a 47, because you might actually miss the A+ cut-off for exam 1, and also that was quite an easy exam, compared to the past few years
-

mmmm that's what I thought too, if I do in fact get an A, but then again it still is only 3 marks...which technically is the same as losing 1.5 marks in exam 2? Ah well, stoked anyway, as you said after scaling it won't really matter much :)

Actually it will make a huge difference if you're in the 99. I plugged in some random scores and 45 -> 50 changed my ATAR from 99.05 to 99.30 :O
-
Hey guys, how about this one.
39/40 exam 1 and
76/80 exam 2
Ranked first.
Also, what is gonna scale to a 50, I'm hoping to get a scaled high 40s or 50 if possible.
-
40/40
77/80
45 46 47 ?

40/40

45 46 47 ?
47-48
-
44-45 Should scale to a 50 I think. Maybe even 43!
-
sacs: 83/100 (low a)
exam 1: 35/40 (high a)
exam 2: ~60/80 (high b+)
predictions???
how much do you reckon scaling will increase this year?
-
i'm also ranked first in a cohort of 5... needless to say our school accomodates minimally for maths and sciences
-

Except, as I said, there was a guy who got A+ A A+ and got 50 in 2009.
-
that means that there's still hope for a 49 for me! :D :D
*crosses fingers* pleaseeeeeeee happennnn! D:
-
Hope for me too!!!
-
Hope for me too!!!
Haha, how many marks did you lose?
-
2 (which sucks coz i only made one small error, but it was the terminals from 20 to 40)
-
2 (which sucks coz i only made one small error, but it was the terminals from 20 to 40)
oh for the fish bowl thing? yeah, that's a trivial mistake that's probably not deserving of losing 2 marks - either way you'll probably get a 49 for losing 2 marks!
but hmm, i've lost a max of 5
1 - that stupid "g" thing in exam 1
2 - a = i in Q1
2 - last part of last question, i integrated the wrong function
I'm hoping that VCAA gives me the mark for leaving my answer in terms of "g" and I hope I can scrape a mark in the last question, because I technically did show some understanding of how to approach the problem! damnn! so hopefully 117/120 overall *crosses fingers*
-
36/40 exam 1
60/80 exam 2
37 or 38 maybe?? hopefully?? what do you guys think, and what would that scale up to?
thanks
-
36/40 exam 1
60/80 exam 2
37 or 38 maybe?? hopefully?? what do you guys think, and what would that scale up to?
thanks
That's probably going to be 2 A's, Exam 1 this year would have a higher cut-off than last year
I'd say around a 37-ish, which should scale up to a 45-46ish if scaling is as sensational as some are saying
-
some one please predict me, about 90 for sacs, 37-38/40 and 78/80. thushan, you should get 50 still
-
Is spesh harder or easier than methods? Cos I know some one who got 46 for methods by losing 5 marks overall, and she wasn't at the top of her cohort, and then I see predictions here that people who lose 5 marks are gonna get 45-ish :S I always comforted myself with the thought that it wouldn't be as serious to lose trivial marks in spesh than in methods...
-
holy shit.. so many people did very well! hmmm i wonder if this is only on VN or just general...
-
some one please predict me, about 90 for sacs, 37-38/40 and 78/80. thushan, you should get 50 still
you'll be looking at about a 47 and yeah, he defs could get a 50 :P
-
exam 1 39/40
exam 2 67/80
predictions anyone?
much appreciated! :)
-
40/40
75-76/80
top rank
-
There comes a moment, where you just have to accept that you will graduate without any 50's
-
oh the horror
-
Better redo VCE then.
-
hey guys what would this get me roughly?
about 80% average in SACs in strong cohort
35/40 for exam 1
70/80 for exam 2
cheers!
-
hey guys, what do you think I'd get with a 90-95% average in a strong cohort, 40/40 for exam 1 and 76/80 for exam 2?
-
hey guys, what do you think I'd get with a 90-95% average in a strong cohort, 40/40 for exam 1 and 76/80 for exam 2?
that's exactly what I'm expecting! :) I'd say around 46-47, might be 45 if you're really unlucky, likewise unlikely to be 48
-
Haha that sounds amazing for both of us! and with spesh scaling too :D
