Signed up.
What a great opportunity, and a great time to start.
Do you think the cert IV in bus admin can be completed before Uni starts again?
This is fantastic!Small Business
Signed up and looking forward to starting.
A sub forum would be perfect!
:)
Awesome! I signed up. Is it possible to do the diploma without first completing the certificates? Or do the cert IV in business admin without having first completed the cert III in business?

You CAN do the Cert IV without having done the CertIII, but you CANNOT go straight into doing the diploma, you are however available to get funding to do two programs i believe, e.g. i plan to do the diploma after i finish my CertIV and it's my understanding that it will be funded
The MBBS course at Monash University Clayton Campus is only available to:
• current Year 12 students; or
• applicants who have completed VCE (or equivalent) within the previous two years and have not commenced tertiary studies.
Just a Q though: This won't affect VTAC courses will it? Because MBBS specifically requires you not to have commenced ANY tertiary studies since finishing year 12 - would these certificates/diploma count?
3. have not fully completed an Australian qualification at the same level or higher than that which you aim to enrol. Upskill offers Cert III, IV and Diploma (You can currently be enrolled into a course,Tafe or University, so long as you haven't completed that course or degree).
I've done a certificate III in hospitality so that mean I'm not eligible to complete III but instead the IV and Diploma?

Also I still haven't gotten a call yet :( /foreveralone
I forgot to include this important part of it.
Whilst everything is online, you are allowed free access to a tutor for the course to email, call, or even meet up with in person to get help with going through the course.
Alternatively, I've created a section here for you guys to ask each other questions if needed.
Post all UpSkill course related questions here!
They havent called me yet! :(
I WANT THEM TO CALL ME!!
Its like waiting for a guy to call you back for a second date :(
LOL :)

But it's all free? Like I could do the whole course without my parents even knowing? Are you under 18? If so, there's a section on the enrolment that requires parental permission. Otherwise, your parents won't have to know. (I almost went to get my Mum to sign it, then I was like "hang on, I'm 18! I don't have to get permission!" I felt grown up)

How cool is Tim?!!
Even the email he sent me was personalised ("I hope you're my lawyer one day" naww)
BTW Tim said they're having a discussion about changing scholarship eligibility criteria on Monday, so it woud be on the safe side to sign up/enrol ASAP.wow he called just in the nick of time :)
That is doable. But yould have to get signed up very fast. Yes some things may change after December 17 so express your interest by then.
Getting a little worried, missed the call yesterday so Tim sent out an email to all those that missed his call saying that if we replied he would attempt to contact us again this weekend because enrolment staff are on holidays this monday. Problem is I haven't heard from him today and I'm at work all day tomorrow, should I be worried or will there be time to enrol this coming week?I called him just before and had a chat after he left a voicemail and email, you could try the same.

EDIT: He called me :)
So with the 'scholarship', these courses are effectively free, is that correct?
I tried signing up and after I clicked submit, I got this message:

What do I do now?
What do we do with the Training Plan Outline? Do we have to hand it in with the enrolment forms as well? :PJust sign the bottom and hand it in :)
Taiga, Monash Med just replied to my email with:
Thank you for your enquiry. You can undertake studies up to Certificate III, however, Certificate IV is considered tertiary study and will definitely exclude you from admission to the MBBS program.
I've already enrolled in both :S
This doesn't match up with what you've been told either...
Is there any difference between the enrolments processed today (and before today) and the enrolments that will be processed later on?
That is a total joke. Monash really just piss me off at times. Their admissions process is a disgrace.
^don't tell them
Do you reckon its doable to complete both the courses simultaneously?
Or should i just go with doing Cert III first, and then do Cert IV?
I'm pretty lazy when it comes to computer based things :P so i'm not sure how long it would take doing both the courses together....any thoughts?
So I missed their first call. For some reason, the call went straight to voicemail :S In an attempt to set up and check my voicemail, I ran out of credit (Stupid Three!) Does anyone know what the voicemail says? Is it okay to call back on my home phone instead?
You'll be fine. Am meeting Tim tomorrow so will try and encourage a speedier process for enrolment.
In the future Talent2 is looking to get it all done online :)
I'm enrolled in both Cert III and IV and the requirement that I must finish 2 units in the first month in order to not incur a enrollment fee got me confused. I have already finished the first 2 units of Certificate IV (enrollment of cert IV finished before III). Do I also have to finish the first 2 units of Certificate III in the first month as well?

Pretty sure you'd have to complete 2 units of the Cert III as well, let taiga confirm.
Yeah but you won't receive your certificate etc until the 4 months are over I believe.Oh, that sucks :(
Is there a catch?
There is no catch, however you must be informed that the scholarship that Upskill awards applies if and only if you complete the first two units of the course in the first month (roughly 2-4 hours of work). If you can’t complete those units, you will be charged a one-time fee of $187.50 for the course, which is the value of the scholarship provided by Upskill.
To meet the requirements of the scholarship you must:If you fail to meet the above requirements you’ll be invoiced the applicable enrolment fee to your

course or 1 unit within the first 6 weeks of enrolling into a Diploma level course,- complete the qualification as per the signed Training Plan, and
- fit one or more fee exemption categories listed below.

Taiga, it's not a problem for me because I intend to see the course through, but it may affect those who are enrolling to see what it's like, but plan on only completing two units if they decide it's not for them. You suggest they won't be charged so long as they do the two units before dropping out, but the enrolment pack states that both the two units must be completed in the first month, and that the course must be fully completed in the long term in order to retain the scholarship and avoid a fee.Is there a catch?

Is there possibly any other way to advertise this program on the forum? The random ads in every thread are getting a bit annoying..

Yay!!!! Tim finally called me!
I didnt get to ask him what he majored in, but he told me he did Commerce at Melbourne. How did he get his job? :S
I'll push for login details for everyone that signed up before Monday. After that it's a bit hard on them logistically, but will see what I can do.
I also tried an FB stalk to see exactly what he studied at uni, but to no avail unfortunately. :/Oh good, I wasnt the only one. Do you think he's the red head?

Creepy.
Seriously.
How long did it take from when the enrollments people call you to confirm enrollment to getting your log in details?I had my confirmation call on monday and only received my login details at 5:59pm today so yours shouldn't be too far away!
I got calls confirming my enrollment yesterday for both Cert III and Cert IV...but still have no login info.
Not really worrying, but I definitely don't want to be waiting until after they return in Jan.
So y'all use up this whole thread talking about Tim, and now that he's hear you're all silent :P
tim, how does this make you feel?
I also tried an FB stalk
The reason we recommend both is because they address different criteria, which is something which prospective employers will have a look at as well. You're free to just do the Cert IV if you wish, but obviously having both would put you at an advantage.
hmm should we be panicking if we havent received our login details around 4 days after the confirmation call?xD Yeah i havent gotten that call yet either. Can we still pull out at this stage? I dont think i can be bothered doing it anymore.... Like i just cbf LOL
They are still making calls this week.I do believe i can do it, i was just a bit moody yesterday lol. Having to decide what course i want to do, having asian relatives over discussing possible careers etc xD
One set should receive login details if they have sent in their forms, and the other set are those who expressed interest and will get everything sorted out so they can begin the course in early January.
If you cbf at this stage, I'd be a bit worried. You'll have nothing to do in January, and if you decide to reapply then it's going to be a lot more of a hassle (+ you've pretty delayed the process for everyone else if you're going to do that). Not trying to guilt you into it or anything, but that's the case. If you seriously don't think you can do it (it's not a difficult), don't apply.
I still haven't gotten a call from them ?
Should i be worried ?
I registered around the day we got our ATAR results.
I'll contact them to find out why that tick isn't there if it's enough to put you off.thanks
That said, I'm not sure what you mean by saying 'valid and able to be used'. No one is going to say that your Cert isn't 'usable', the tick is an indication of whether it can be delivered, not the actual approval of the course.oh okay, yea that's what i meant, as in if it's usable in victoria.
