the bag was way too time consuming to draw ;/. i skipped it when i realised i would take 25minutes to fully render it. i think it shouldnt be worth 12 marks.
also for the isometric usb question, did the back of the usb have a hole? the back of my usb looked like this: http://imgur.com/rgJvz.
and for the orthogonal question, where it made you fill in the missing details. i had 1 line for the top view and 1 line for the front view, but no line for the side view. i also used the 3rd angle symbol thingy. is this correct?
-
there was a hole for the usb!?
also agree that bag was so time consuming mine looked like shit but overall i think it was a very easy exam compared to other years
-
was tooo rusheedd!!....bag required too much detail therefore my t-shirt didn't look as good as it couldve!!
were u supposed to draw the 3rd angle symbol as part of the missing details????
-
Yes my USB back did look like that!
Also for 3rd A O , i had one line on each!
-
I DID THE USB THE WRONG WAY, its so depressing I did the front, I want to kick myself now. I was rushed and yeah the rendering question took me about 25 minutes which is ridiculous for 12 marks. The rest of it was easy enough to complete. You weren't required to draw the orthogonal symbol for that question thingo, it was only 3 marks and only said to do the missing lines.
For the usb though I did it all right i'm pretty sure like isometric wise, will i even get any marks for doing it the wrong way?
-
...I still don't know what a usb housing is.
Anyway, the hidden lines confused me, as well as the circle.
The rendering didn't take me too long like what everyone else above me has said. Overall, it wasn't too terrible.
-
My t-shirt design looked as if I had drawn it with my mouth and with closed eyes.
-
ur not the only one on the t-shirt design!!..lol...pretty crummy exam but wasn't too hard just time consuming which is obvious in rushed desgins!!
-
The third-angle orthogonal symbol was not required, as the question only asked to draw in the missing lines on the views. I had one line for each view.
I agee that the bag was far too time consuming to render. I was rushing the entire way through! Also, with the isometric drawing of the USB, I really struggled trying to draw those stupid flicks on the end. However, I felt that the exam in general was fairly straight forward compared to past exams I'd completed.
-

Same here. Mine was so crappy as I left it to the end and therefore had ten minutes to complete it. Result: complicated and messy looking design with pathetic colouring-in skills.
-
was the missing line on the right hand side view a diagonal hidden line???
-
I think it was a diagonal one, thats what i did
-
@berka
I did a diagonal hidden line, so hopefully thats rights
-
schweeet!! one thing i got right..lol :P
-
haha i hope it is right!
-
My t-shirt design looked as if I had drawn it with my mouth and with closed eyes.
Haha same ere!
But really a Bicycle T-Shirt design? That's lame as hell! We so got stuck with the worst design choice out of the past exams >_>
Also what did people do for question 2 Form, Scale and Proportion?
-
Additionally, how were we meant to differentiate between the isometric drawing and the two-point perspective in question 1 (usually such a gimme question, I know)?

Yep, VCAA seems to like bicycles!
For form I made the eye shape three dimensional through tone; for scale I made the depiction much smaller than it was originally; for proportion I made the square part only a lot smaller than it was originally. I'm not sure that I did any of them correctly, though - I'm still not entirely clear in regard to scale and proportion.

For the Orthogonal question, since it was 3 marks, its suggestive you need to fill in 3 things. Since only two missing lines were identified, adding the orthogonal symbol would give the third mark.
For the isometric usb housing, the majority of the hidden lines would not be visible in isometric view, so ideally they may have been there to trick you. however you were required to draw an inserted hole at the back.
In Question 1. Isometric was no. 3 and two point no. 1. In my opinion, both were poorly represented by the vcaa however since no. 3 maintains the 30/30 parallel lines, its best that one was isometric
-
yea, question 1, twopoint was unclear but i guess that is just vcaa being vcaa.
and im pretty sure there are only 2 lines for the orthogonal question + the symbol.

I found three missing lines, one was on each view. Two of them were hidden lines (the diagonal one on the side view and one for the bottom of the key hole on the top view)and one was a solid line (on the front view) to represent the slope.
Unless I'm wrong on the missing lines... I don't think we had to draw the symbol in? :-\

I was of the opinion that none of the lines presented were thirty degrees, and (considering that the scale was not large enough to notice any convergence of lines) after much deliberation I went the other way. Catch you later, gimme two marks. :(

It said the lines on the object not the whole drawing, and yeah there was 3 lines missing. It didn't ask for you to draw the orthogonal symbol.

There were definitely three lines in the orthog.

maybe your right. i may have missed a third line

you are most likely correct, i may have missed that third line

What did everyone write for the question about a consideration or constraint from the Moonlight/Ford Fiesta design?
-
What did everyone write for the question about a consideration or constraint from the Moonlight/Ford Fiesta design?
Time constraints of completing the requirements of the brief as the Cinema screenings were 'in Summer', and hence they had to finish before that so that the client had adequate time to effectively promote.
-
i did they had to include the night theme to represent the 'moonlight' therefore all images would have to be bold and black infront of the moolight?? think its a bit wrong....ford fiesta..whaatt??
-
Didn't VCAA include that Moonlight Cinema thing in previous (forgot when exactly) year's exam? Or was it a practice that I did?

Yeah, I thought I recognised that too!
-
what did everyone draw for completing the 4th button. I did a tree and titled it 'The Woods'
-

I did that little bird because it looked the easiest to draw !
-
what did everyones front of the USB house look like?
-

I also did a tree and titled it 'the tree'. How original I was!
-
For the Moonlight Cinema final presentation question, what did you say the final presentation was (those card things in the box)? I said they were flyers :S I may be wrong...

i also did flyers, wasnt too sure though
-
what did everyones front of the USB house look like?
i got a little confused with the front. the hidden lines really got messy
-
with designing the fourth button i did the 'the wicked witch'
did you have to get the image from the resource book i thought it was okay as it kept with the fairy tale type theme!?

i think one of the resource images resembled a witch
-
I did 'The Owl' for the button... do you think I will get the points?
-
yerh i did a witches hat with a moon on it and called it witches hat...hahaha can't believe what u cum up with when you look back on it...i think it would be a fairly versatile question so probably most night/fairlytale ideas would get the points!!
-
I drew a moon and I called her 'Luna Moonbeam'. I better get full marks for creativity.
