I keep getting a 'Service Unavailable'. Either there are too many keen students on the website or my browser is playing up.
Is it working fine for everyone else?

But you're on here right now? So it must be working.
Are you typing in the URL correctly? I used to not put the "www." at the start and it therefore would come up as unavailable. :P
Usually when it says "Service Unavailable" it means that results are about to be released????

VCAA isn't a right, it's a privelage granted to us under the great Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority Act (2000).Uhm, well actually, not anymore.

Hey just curious; is the VCAA website working for a small amount of people?We think some of us have access to our ISP's cache's, so the site isn't up but we have access to an old copy of it (that is it appears that we're viewing the page as if it's online, when we're really only seeing an old, saved copy).

But seriously, all you have to do is add in the ".nyud.net:8080" after the .au once, then each link you click will work and you'll be able to get pdf's with the maths set out properly.
e.g.
http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au.nyud.net:8080/Documents/exams/mathematics/2012/2012mmcas1-w.pdf
Thing is... I read back already when you quoted yourself on BasicAcid's thread. It's just that I don't know the url for the 2012 methods cas exam of by heart... and I doubt many others would know either.The link in the other thread should have lead to all the subjects listed, which as clicking the links have worked for most people we've tested it with that couldn't get it before, should have worked. i.e. All the subjects/exams http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Pages/vce/exams/examsassessreports.aspx
So rather than having to google for the url of whatever then put the ".nyud.net:8080" in (I understand your method shows math better), just two clicks on the google page to get to the cache.

Everything works for me though; is the frozen site period over?Not yet I don't think, you're probably just one of us lucky ones that are getting a cached version through their isp, even though it looks like it's up (well that's our theory atm anyways (credit to stevensmay)). Pinging the website/ip address is still giving Request Timed Out. Give it a try on your phone without having it connected to wifi, as it's going through a different connection, it'll probably not load.

Works for most people who it wasn't working for before, but apparently not working for some, so give it a shot anyways:
To be able to save and download the exams so that they come out working right, add in ".nyud.net:8080" after the .au part of the address for the normal vcaa page
I.e. for the exams page use this http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au.nyud.net:8080/Pages/vce/exams/examsassessreports.aspx
Old method that doesn't work as well below: Just use the stuff above.

The google cache should do the trick.
