I'm bored and it's night time. Let the discussions begin.

actually no i'm kidding, i'm quite confident in about three of my subjects. As for the other... a pass is all I ask for.
Do they calculate your WAM/GPA for you as well or do you need to do that yourself?
-
I'm just hoping for passes, and I think I'll get that. Anything else is a plus :)
-
Every time this thread is initially made I panic because I think results are out. XD

when do results come out? LOL

Officially, July 6.
EDIT: Sorry, July 10.

I know. :P
Officially, July 6.
That's actually not too late then. Before my winter subjdct is done anyway

WAM is calculated for you
GPA I think isn't
-
when do results come out? LOL
For maths subjects, should be by the end of next week, most likely the middle of the week. The final deadline is 10th July but results almost always come out earlier.

Moving this question here from the general chat thread because it's more relevant:
Do subject scores round to the nearest integer score or do they always round down or something? What's the story here? E.g. would a 97.9 turn into a 98 or a 97?
-
Rule No.1 of result period: Lower your expectations.
This semester I performed nowhere as well as I did last time...

I think they round to the nearest integer? Can't be sure though.

One thing I won't be doing this break is refreshing the results page multiple times a day... I hope. I need a solid holiday.
-
Not wanting to get anyone overly excited, but ... remember how last semester they added the WAM display to the results page? Looks like your WAM is updated before your marks are made viewable. If it's your first semester in a given course this is quite obvious:
"Your Weight. Average is [a number I am quite happy with]. This was calculated on 23-Jun-2015.
Sorry, but you don't have any results recorded for your Study Plan."
Curiouser and curiouser!
-
where abouts on my.unimelb do we see our results/wam
soz ive got those jaffy problems

Well...my diploma of maths only has one subject this sem. I'll know what I got for vector calc before it comes out then.
That happened with music language. I knew my previous WAM and knew my new one so I worked out exactly what the score was

I plan on opening results only when I get notifications from all 5 Facebook subject groups that results are out.

Can confirm, results are included in the WAM calculation before they are officially released, so essentially as soon as they are entered into the system you can start seeing how you go.
-
Yeah I noticed that my WAM had changed also (up thankfully), which was a bit unexpected. Thought they had recalculated my score or rounded it up or something.
-
Every time this thread is initially made I panic because I think results are out. XD
This. I freaked out. Luckily I have a while yet to drown my sorrows with copious amounts of alcohol and video games.

There was legit a point last night in my dream where 2 of my results came out I NEED TO CARE ABOUT DIFFERENT THINGS FOR THE NEXT WEEK UGH
-
There was legit a point last night in my dream where 2 of my results came out I NEED TO CARE ABOUT DIFFERENT THINGS FOR THE NEXT WEEK UGH
Same here, although my dream was so weird
I got 66% for physics in my dream and I don't even do physics.
Got a 81% for bio but failed my breadth subject. I was so stressed out and then I woke up and I'm like RELIEF.
I wanna just relax these holidays ... and btw, do ALL results come out on the 10th? or?

The latest they will come out is the 10th but normally they start filtering out about a week beforehand.

Oh wow so we will start receiving certain subjects earlier than others? And a week beforehand as well?

Why do I always fall for this when this thread is created?

Rule No.1 of result period: Lower your expectations.
This semester I performed nowhere as well as I did last time...

Amen to this. Definitely my worst experience ever (no thanks to Mark Elgar's ridiculous theory of how to educate). Hoping for 1 H1, 2 H2As and a P/H3 right now, I honestly don't think I'm overdramatising either.
Good luck to all the other crucified third years (though I'm sure you used your exam periods far better, and you'll all be fine).
Also I'm fairly sure they round to the nearest integer, yeah.
-
Just got my results for the semester - a day after the WAM was updated (as camerop said.)
And we're off.
-
So i just got my WAM and I'm so disappointed that I didn't apply to transfer, I thought I wouldn't get the marks but I think I would have been able to :O :O :O
-

I still haven't received anything. To get your WAM do ALL your exams need to be marked? My last exam was two days ago but I had three like 2 weeks ago... all three of them would have been marked by now.
And great job with your WAM :D I remember a couple of months ago you were stressing out, and wanted to drop out and stuff, but things have really changed for you! Really happy for you! :)
-
On my results page it says that WAM = X - calculated on 28th Nov 2014? Can I safely assume nothing has gone into the system yet?
PS - how is the WAM calculated anyway?
-

All exams I think. and thanks ;D

my WAM got updated today and I figured out my what the score that was added must have been (assuming one score was added) and I think it was for algorithms based on other people in my units telling me whether their WAM was updated or not so basically scores for algorithms were uploaded today (y)

It's just a simple average of all marks in all subjects.
Yep, can safely assume that. Mine said it was updated on June 24th (or whatever).
-
So i just got my WAM and I'm so disappointed that I didn't apply to transfer, I thought I wouldn't get the marks but I think I would have been able to :O :O :O
It may only be for one subject though!

Nah, seems like it gets updated as soon as subject coordinators put the marks into the system. (I've figured out which subject I got my mark for by talking to other students.) The initial marks may well change, especially for people who failed or just barely passed a subject.
-
It may only be for one subject though!
I take that back then ::)

Right, thanks for that!
-
my wam changed assuming its due to one subject i got a 61 in either m2m or Functional Genomics and Bioinformatics not sure which one though anyone doing any of these subjects experience a wam change?
-
my wam changed assuming its due to one subject i got a 61 in either m2m or Functional Genomics and Bioinformatics not sure which one though anyone doing any of these subjects experience a wam change?
Pretty sure it's functional genomics. Mine changed too and the score I got wasn't right for M2M
-
I'd prefer M2M results be delayed for as long as possible.
-
I did Functional and the WAM changed
-
The change in my WAM apparently is due to Advanced Prac Chem because a student who only took Advanced Prac Chem had a change in WAM. I also heard that the subject score came out, but I didn't go check it. Again, I'm waiting on the other four subjects coming out before I look at all five of them.
-
Got a 60 in MGMT20001 Organisational Behaviour...to be honest I'm just glad I got it over and done with, given the material isn't my strong suit.
No, but seriously, fuck compulsory subjects. >:(
-
My WAM has gone AWOL (i.e., it's simply no longer on the results page)! Anybody else have the same thing?
-

yeah same
-
Maybe they cottoned onto the WAM updating prior to the results becoming visible?
-
You can still see the WAM for a second on your study plan before the page completely loads if anyone's that keen. At least I can
-

It looks like it becomes permanently visible when you get all your results for the semester.
-
WAM is back for me on the results page it must have just been this morning
-
So are people actually getting their grades show up on the results page consistently after the change in WAM, or is it completely random?
-
So are people actually getting their grades show up on the results page consistently after the change in WAM, or is it completely random?
For Music Language 1, the subject result was up only after a very long delay for some reason. For prac chem I hear the result is up. Haven't checked but I know my WAM changed.
-
Do you only get your WAM when all your subjects are marked? (It's my first semester so I don't actually have any scores entered but I do have my WAM) Is it possible that it will still change?
-

Yes I think it's possible that it might still change. My WAM changed based on the result for one of my subjects, though I think that it will change as the rest of my subject results are released
-

Hi!
My WAM has changed twice in the last two days so I'm guessing two of my subjects have been released.
When do I find out exactly how much I got for each subject? Are they all released on the 10th of July or are some subjects released beforehand?
thanks
-

Damn, sounds like its random them. So frustrating, why not just give us our results...
-

They'll get released when all marks are finalized, so most likely sometime this week if it's already been entered in to the system.

Because your results haven't been confirmed yet.

Oh damn, as I posted this my WAM went down 2 -_- Ok I swear I'm gonna stop looking every 10minutes now.
-
Couldn't see my WAM until today and I'm hoping the WAM is from physics otherwise I think I might have a mental breakdown
-
This WAM thing is making me play guessing games...
-
Had my exam last Wednesday, 3 hour exam with 200 people enrolled, got results back today. Holy crap the Maths department marks quickly. :o
-
My WAM just updated and I am assuming it's from only one subject but it's hard to guess which subject it is when two of my Biomedicine subjects are core.
I have a feeling it might be Calc2 though
-

It must be Bio or Chem since my WAM updated too and I don't do Calc 2
-
Because your results haven't been confirmed yet.
I'm talking about the ones that are in the system already and just not showing up on the results page... I had a couple uploaded to it at the same time today (after WAM changing previously) so I doubt they enter them in and double check them later.

I imagine it's more in terms of only half the results for the cohort have been entered etc so let's not release them until all are entered.

praying to God it was chemistry

praying to God it was chemistry
hmm mine changed justnow after it showed up this morning..so bio and chem?

ARA results are out >.> Unsure whether to be happy or unhappy. Pretty decent/mediocre/who cares score hhahahaha
-
praying to God it was chemistry
I certainly hope so as well.

Shall I be the first one to start this?
2015 Semester 1 UNIB10003 An Ecological History of Humanity 3 82 H1 First Class Honours 12.500
At least this is on the good side of the 80 line

They come out gradually, check your study plan or LMS

Shout out to GENE20001 students (this year's cohort): did your WAMs just change?

Guess breadth subjects have all come out early :P.
Good luck everyone!

Not yet, no. :/
Interesting. Maybe not everyone's WAM is updated for the same subject simultaneously?
-
Interesting. Maybe not everyone's WAM is updated for the same subject simultaneously?
I guess as individual results are loaded into the system (possibly not simultaneously), your individual WAM changes. But then at some later time the department flicks some switch and makes all results available officially.

Are you certain it was for genetics though? And yep, possibly.

That'd make sense :)

Sounds logical.

I think so (can't know for sure), but it matches my expectation for the subject.
-

Oh, fair enough. Well, I'll just have to wait it out I guess. :)

My WAM didn't change but they've posted my Bio mark.

Yeah, I don't know. Just sitting here speculating...

I know that feel, once every semester

Shout out to GENE20001 students (this year's cohort): did your WAMs just change?
(I had this in the wrong thread before...so I moved it)
Nope. My WAM hasn't changed at all from last year yet. Although GENE20001 was the third exam I sat I do expect it to be the first one out, given all they have to do is scan a multiple choice answer sheet.
-
Just out of curiosity, say in 1st year, you just passed each subject but got H1 and H2A's in 2nd and 3rd year, would you still be able to get a 6.0+ GPA and a WAM that it 80+?
-

If it's not genetics, then I have no idea what it is!?

Yes.

BIOL10004 - Biology of cells and organisms
Passed
2014, Semester 1, Parkville, On Campus Credit Points: 12.50
Mark: 84 Grade: First Class Honours - H1
2 more to go ..
First year science students, have CHEM 1 results been put into your WAM yet??? My WAM hasn't changed in a while, chemistry was the first exam I did ..
-
does it make a big difference if its 79 as opposed to 80?
WAM wise it doesn't
But GPA wise it kinda does, a 79 gives you a 6.5 while an 80 gives you a 7.0. Which sucks.
But others have been saying first year results aren't as important as second year and third year. Use your 79 as motivation that you can get 80+ for your subjects next semester! And be happy with it, a 79 is awesome!
Fark Rod, you've gotten more H1s in your subjects than I have in my entire degree so far haha
(And you've only had two results released ;))
Well done!
Haha thanks! I had to work my arse off for them though! Started from day 1 really pleasing to see that my hard work has paid off!
Good luck for your upcoming results !!
-
Yes, especially if you're considering med.
The way the GPA is calculated for med is subjects done in first year are weighted 1/6, second year subjects weighted 2/6, third year subjects weighted 3/6.
Don't let your results in first year dictate the rest of your degree
Yes.
You've seen right through me BasicAcid haha! Thank you both for the reassurance. I regret stepping out of my comfort zone with my breadth subject which consequently lowered my WAM and for choosing physics (the only subject that I absolutely cannot do). I feel so relieved that I can make up for it in the future :)
-
I don't think Chem is up, I have 2 subjects (computing and bio) and my WAM is the exact average of these two.
Unless my chem mark is the same as my WAM, of course.
-

Unless my chem mark is the same as my WAM, of course.
Yeah same here, mine is only the average of two subjects I have already received.
Argh well when my WAM plummets down I'll know chemistry is up haha
Thanks for that!
-
Are you sure it wasn't for neurophysiology? My WAM changed and I think it was because of neurophys
Def neurophys. Wish it was PoNs though...
-
Anyone else just been watching their WAM go up and down? You don't want to look but it's so difficult not to. Mine's changed three times today! (only one actual result though)
First year science students, have CHEM 1 results been put into your WAM yet??? My WAM hasn't changed in a while, chemistry was the first exam I did ..
Fundamentals has (I know cause my score did plummet haha)
-
Calc2 people did your WAMs just get updated?
Just got my third subject calculated into my WAM and I think I can work out what I got for these subjects...
-
Fark Rod, you've gotten more H1s in your subjects than I have in my entire degree so far haha
(And you've only had two results released ;))
Well done!
Ikr he's actually crazy smart :D Teach me your ways Rod!!!
-
Yeah same here, mine is only the average of two subjects I have already received.
Argh well when my WAM plummets down I'll know chemistry is up haha
Thanks for that!
LOL I think chemistry will actually make a negative WAM possible :p
-
Why does the WAM keep changing? I swear it's changed more times than I have subjects...
-
WAM hasn't updated one bit for me.
^hobbitle: Could be because they revise your scores sometimes (ie version 2)
-
3 of my subjects were released and after that my wam changed so now i think chem is up
-
Shout out to GENE20001 students (this year's cohort): did your WAMs just change?
(I had this in the wrong thread before...so I moved it)
Mine just did :)
-
Mine just did too but if that was my genetics score I will cry. I'm hoping its chem20018
-
Fundamentals has (I know cause my score did plummet haha)
Really? I don't think it has for me. My WAM just went up, pretty sure it would have been psych for me.
-
people who did Chinese 1 had their wam update this morning
good luck everyone
-
Ohhhhhhhh so that's what Ver 1 and Ver 2 mean...
My eng comp score just got released officially (Ver 2)...
Got 71%... I was sitting on 36/40 (90%) before the final exam...
That means I got 35/60 (58%) on the exam...
Exam was so hard I cri
>:(
oh man did you have moffat or does he take it in semester 2 only? i did foundations of algorithms last year
-
people who did Chinese 1 had their wam update this morning
good luck everyone
Yup. Deduced that I got an 82 for it
-
Ohhhhhhhh so that's what Ver 1 and Ver 2 mean...
Nah, Ver 1 and Ver 2 is something to do with the subject, not the results. It shows up in the study plan as soon as you enrol in the subject (if you click "More Details").
-
Ok so my wam has updated again. The first update turned out to be CHEM20018, and by the sounds of it this update might be due to GENE20001. What a rollercoaster of emotions.
So here goes with first result -
2015 Semester 1 CHEM20018 Chemistry: Reactions and Synthesis 2 59 P Pass 12.500
Thank the lord, I genuinely thought I had failed this and now I can get on with my life and breathe freely, so while it is hardly a perfect score, I am beyond happy with it
-
yeah I had moffat
ah well I was aiming for over 70 in all my subjects, but still kinda disappointed tbh
writing code in assignments is a breeze after I spend like 1-2 hours thinking about what to do...
writing code in an exam with 5-10 mins to think.... not for me
god damn i know the feeling, FOA had slightly less coding on the exam because there was a little more analysis but DAMN handwriting code is hard, i got caught off guard after forgetting to bring an eraser into the midsem
second year computing subjects (for example design of algorithms) have far less c-code writing and more pseudocode/english descriptions of how you would approach the problem, (plus all the non-code subject content thats on the exam) so if you're thinking of doing any more computing subjects that might be a relief to hear
-
Really? I don't think it has for me. My WAM just went up, pretty sure it would have been psych for me.
Yeah. It went down and then up ;D pretty sure they're both out
-
Yeah. It went down and then up ;D pretty sure they're both out
really? if you're right, I will be the happiest person in the world. But I won't get my hopes up haha
-
My WAM just changed like 10 minutes ago and then again 2 minutes ago. I'm not sure if its one subject or two, but I think it might be QM1 and intro micro, can anyone confirm?
-
fuck
Yeah mate that exam is brutal every semester. Well done on your assignments, that's awesome work.
-
has WAM always changed before subject results came out? im in my third year but don't remember this ever happening, or maybe im just paying extra attention this year
-
WAM has changed 3 times today... Lower each time haha.
-
My WAM just changed like 10 minutes ago and then again 2 minutes ago. I'm not sure if its one subject or two, but I think it might be QM1 and intro micro, can anyone confirm?
mine changed twice too and i can confirm it wasnt my breadth or ara and the only other 2 subjects i do are micro and qm
so yep looks like intro micro and qm1
-
WAM has changed 3 times today... Lower each time haha.
3 changes also. No actual scores though!

Can someone confirm if Business Finance scores were just uploaded?
Yeah, I think it BusFi got uploaded.
-
My WAM was updated because of Calculus 2 marks today (the official marks are still hidden though).
Yay! :D
-
Are the results the overall result for the subject or just for the exam? I'm asking because for my breadth I found out what I got for my final essay/exam and also an overall score, but the overall score was shown on the results page. So then for psych (for example) how would I figure out what I got for the exam if they just show overall results?

Overall for the subject.
It gives you an idea of how you did on the exam (beacuse there may or may not be scaling involved)

86% for BCMB20002 fuck yes!

86% for BCMB20002 fuck yes!
Amazing job! That subject's a toughie.
Got my first result published also! Definitely a useful buffer against Animal Behaviour, and way above my expectations.
CEDB30002 - Concepts in Cell & Developmental Biology
Passed
2015, Semester 1, Parkville, On Campus Credit Points: 12.50

Basically the best-case scenario based on what I knew I got wrong on the exam. TODAY IS A VERY GOOD DAY.
Good luck to everyone else waiting on results, fingers crossed :)
EDIT: 1001st post, I've been here too long :'(
-
Ok so after refreshing the results page constantly over the past few days, all my subjects are finally up.

That 79 is so fkn cutting :'(
Apart from that I'm pretty happy overall though! I was seriously surprised by psych, I'd kind of written it off and was expecting it to drag my average down.
Congrats everyone on your (ridiculously good) scores and good luck to everyone who's still waiting ;D

Idk about chem. And I was upset about bio but my marks were brought down by my prac scores and considering it was the same day as chem and we started an hour late... Just have to try harder next semester.

aah thanks :D
Congrats sjayne! Really good start to first sem!
-
Still waiting for my WAM to update... ::)
I don't know what's worse though: having the WAM change and not knowing which subject(s), or not having it change at all.
-
Anyone that did NEUR30003 got a WAM update?
-
Still waiting for my WAM to update... ::)
Surprised M2M isn't up yet. They're so efficient
-
Anyone that did NEUR30003 got a WAM update?
Na it's not neur30003
-
is every WAM change related to subject results or can it be from rounding of the WAM (if that even occurs)?
-
Na it's not neur30003
Yeah, never mind, I just got the result and it was PSYC30018.
-
is every WAM change related to subject results or can it be from rounding of the WAM (if that even occurs)?
Subject results pretty sure. Every time your WAM changes a subject has been entered ..
-
My WAM changed for the fourth and final time. CHEM 1 results have been put into the WAM 99% sure ..
-
Chemistry 1 has been updated to the WAM.. mine just plummeted like crazy. Luckily, I barely got a P for it though ::)
-
yeap, just waiting on CHEM 1.
-
Since it's a pretty much confirmed Chem WAM change, I'm dreading my physics results. I'm pretty happy with my Chem result though. I'll post all my results when they all come out

Haha thanks mate! It's probably all downhill from here but ah well ;)
Congrats on your results as well! Getting those scores in a masters degree is absolutely ridiculous haha
Also congrats to all my fellow jaffys (jaffies?) on smashing the hell out of first semester :D

WAM changed twice today! Finally.
Surprised M2M isn't up yet. They're so efficient

WAM changed again this morning as my breadth subject was uploaded and so some of these haven't been released yet but i'd be surprised if they changed. Based on calculations:
EDIT: results are all officially out now and nothing changed from predictions, yay!
School Experience as Breadth
98 (omg this subject was purely essays I am ecstatic with the result)
Thermal and Classical Physics
94 (scaling must have been godly, I was anticipating mid-80's based on exam)
Design of Algorithms
95 (was aiming higher but must have stuffed up somewhere unknowingly on the exam)
Vector Calculus
91 (bit disappointed with this as I think I had a real chance to get a higher score, but had a bad exam day, and 80% exams <shrugs>)
anyway... first 90+ semester, AND raised my WAM from first year too so the extra effort I put in must have paid off WOO

All my results are out as of this morning :) It's been a pretty solid semester overall, I'm a bit disappointed with Genetics (that 8 mark multiple choice question destroyed me ugh) but ah well, my WAM remains healthy, despite the rollercoaster it's gone on over the past couple of days.

Congrats everyone! Especially to those who have just started first year and had a massive adjustment from high school to university, and to everyone who worked bloody hard all semester regardless of what your final results were.
silverpixeli, you're not allowed to be disappointed with a mark over 90, it's the rules! ;)
BTW I noticed a few people did Critical Thinking with Data but there's no subject review for it - I'd be interested to hear what people think. One of my friends is a tutor for that subject and was pretty frustrated at the quality of a lot of the essays they marked, so unless it got scaled dramatically, it's not an "easy marks" kind of subject. Anyone getting an H2 or H1 for it should give themselves a big pat on the back. (i.e. I heard the expectations were pretty high for both writing ability and statistical understanding.)

Thanks :D!
I'll do one tomorrow :). To be honest, me and my friends both felt as if our tutor had treated us as if were going to be future statisticians, and so marked us extremely harshly. When in fact, it was merely a breadth subject and we were doing it just out of interest to learn the basics of stats. But regardless I really enjoyed the subject, the lecturer (who took all the core lectures) was so amazing.
And you're right, we had to work so hard for the results, it did not feel like a breadth subject as well, I actually had to work harder for this than biology and still got a lower score.
I'll put up a review soon!

I think I'll also do a review for it tomorrow. I felt as though there was very high expectations as you've said - it was one of those subjects where you needed to cover what they wanted or it was simply wrong. A lot of the time, even if what you say is relevant, if they haven't decided upon it being relevant, it wasn't considered valid & thus you lost marks. I think my performance in the subject would have been better if my tutor wasn't so harsh while marking lol. She hated me though bc I walked in late for my first tutorial after getting lost week 1. #physicsbuilding
In spite of that, I actually enjoyed the lecturer. She is brilliant and is very good in terms of keeping interest, making lessons interactive with polls and the content was quite interesting too. I did it as a subject with interest in stats - just think they shouldn't have had such high expectations from us coming from a non stats background (for the most part).

Biology of Cells and Organisms: 70 (H2B)
Chemistry 1: 78 (H2A)
From Graffiti to Terrorism: 63 (P)
Physics 1: Fundamentals: 74 (H2B)
I'm actually really happy with my results especially physics and chemistry which I thought I would just barely pass. My marks reflected my effort (procrastinated a lot and only did bare minimum) so I can't complain. I am however, pretty disappointed with my Criminology result but that was most likely because I did so horribly in my first essay (referenced the theory in the reference list and not in-text so my whole analysis was invalid). I'm proud that I did step out of my comfort zone considering I struggle with essays and am more logical and factual minded than philosophical.

Congrats to everybody on their scores, we've certainly got some strong first and second years.

If M2M is not released today, that would make for a great weekend.

I'm actually really happy with my results...

Well we can't expect less from UoM can we? haha! I've slacked off the past 2-3 years. I'm actually more motivated than before to start studying since the course is getting more and more relevant to what I want to end up doing. Congratulations on yours as well!

Me upon opening my BIOM20001 result:

Yes, the Eurovision reference was absolutely necessary. :P It's so nice that all that hard work ended up paying off.
If only I looked that good though. LOL!
Oddly enough, in addition to GENE20001 and BIOM20001, UNIB20007 results are out. That was marked quickly. :S

Whoa bro, haven't heard of anybody getting that high for Immuno or Bacteriology yet. Won't be surprised if you get the Microbio prize!

Congrats Stick! Now try and beat your MCB score in HSF. :P

My WAM just updated for M2M so it should be a 91. Thank fucking god...hardest core in biomed so far.
And to all the first years, congrats on getting through your first semester. I always thought that first year was the hardest!

I hear what you are saying nliu, I know the feeling too well, but I want to take a moment to say how much I respect your efforts (taking on so many subjects at once), intelligence (the level of precision with which you talk on AN and in facebook subject groups) and performance (your scores are DAYUM) in this degree, you don't know it but your existence actually legitimately motivates and inspires me to study harder and understand things at a higher level. So maybe you can find some satisfaction in that, everyone has bad exam days :)

Thanks for those very kind words xD I'm quite flattered that someone uses me as motivation. I'll need to take this semester's scores on board to improve on these.

2015 Semester 1 BIOM30002 Biomedicine: Molecule to Malady 1 92 H1 First Class Honours 12.500
Such scaling/easy SAQ marking.
That rounds out my first and last overload semester. Massive respect to anybody who can overload on a consistent basis and maintain their sanity.

I'd have huge respect for anyone who could overload consistently, stay sane and maintain a life. I really didn't socialise at all last semester.

Congratulations everyone on their great results! Especially all the first year students who look like they've transitioned very well into university.
After a disaster in Management I'm glad I could get some better results this semester:
2015 Semester 1 FNCE20001 Business Finance 1 89 H1 First Class Honours 12.500
2015 Semester 1 MAST20004 Probability 1 75 H2A Second Class Hons A 12.500
Honestly expected a lot worse for Prob but I'll gladly take the H2A. Also pretty rapped about BusFi!

It was even more of a trainwreck as I missed two lectures a week because of a vector calc clash. Which, ironically, I did just as well in.
3 92s. I get lots of repeated scores.

how do people get 90+ marks consistently ??? :o

All my marks are out at last! In terms of stress (both academic and otherwise) I had by far, psychologically, my worst semester (even though I dropped my fifth subject in favour of S2 Repro Phys), so these marks are all really surprising. I definitely could have done better in CEDB and PoNS, but I'm ecstatic about my research subject (I must have gotten a 94 across the 70% I didn't get back in semester). I also thought I'd absolutely bombed Animal Behaviour - there must have been some mercy scaling due to how atrocious the exam style was. Never been more relieved with a mark in my entire life. Here's to a better Semester Two! And congratulations to everyone - some absolutely killer marks this semester.

2015 Semester 1 MUSI10209 Glee Singing 1 1 97 H1 First Class Honours 12.500
I'm happy that all my results met and exceeded my expectations! Literally thought I was going to get below 60 for Calc 2 seeing as I had only started revision 3 days before the exam being the jaffy that I am. The exam was a bit of a shock for me because I struggled with the questions I was normally strong at (worded problems) and was able to complete questions I was worse at (e.g. the long proofs). I had a really nice tutor for Biology but she was a harsh marker for the written report. Chemistry was bang on with my expectation seeing as this was the subject I had prepared for the most, being very keen on the concepts learned. I knew Glee was always going to be an 'easy' H1 but never expected to get anywhere near what I ended up with! And it turns out I could have gotten 100 (OMG) if I had not exceeded the word limit by 19.9% for the written submission worth 25% #yolo
