Probs you'll be closer to 36, 38-40 is hard to broach without two solid A+s
Have you looked on the study score calculator?

what yall recon:
exam 1 LOW A+
exam 2 VERY high A+, i think 90/90 :D
sacs A+ avg.

any chance of a 45 given my mid yr was most likely a very low A+? (probs 82/90?)

SACs count for sh1t, really. They'll depend on the marks the rest of your class gets on these exams too.
And again, without a high A+ on your exam one you will be pushing it for above 40, which is a bit sad =c

how about
SAC A+
exam 1: high A

Nah I think 40+ is more than likely. For methods last year I got A+ sacs, A for exam 1 (borderline) and A+ exam 2 and picked up 42.

Yep agree.

These are the rough calculations I do:
- SACs ignore somewhat because not enough info is known about school, average SAC mark, etc
- A+ is usually the top 9-12%.
- 40+ is top 8%
- Percentage of students tapers towards 50
- Use that to determine a rough SS

Hey experts, what am I looking at?

SACS: high A+ (unit 3), low A+ (unit 4) - strong cohort
Exam 1: A+ (didn't receive SOM, assuming it's a mid A+ 85/90)
Exam 2: High A+ (ATM looking at 90/90 fingers crossed :))
Title: Re: Being 'that guy'

Exam 1 : low A+
Exam 2 : low A+/High high A
Sacs: Near Perfect in a polarised class. lots of good, lots of crap people.
Title: Re: Being 'that guy'
Post by: Linkage1992 on November 10, 2010, 02:57:36 pm
I hope you're all right.  ;)

And we have a pretty strong cohort up at the top end. We had a few A+s in the midyear, and potentially the same amount in this one, plus me hopefully...

@gwenny - Haha, I think you should be fine. The mean is somewhere around a C+ usually, so perhaps 32-36.

@ bomb - Not a physics student so don't know much about potential cutoffs this year but I reckon about a 37-39.

Depends what the cutoffs are (CBF looking it up for exam 1) but probably 42 or something if that is a low-mid A+ for both.

Well it depends on what sort of an A and A+ it is. I assumed the exam average was a very low A+. So somewhere around there, but I could be a bit off.

Not sure what my mid-year was as I didn't get a statement of marks but I'd say it would be a mid-ranged A. Think my end of year will be a low to mid A+ and sacs a high b+/low a/mid a (I don't really know).
Title: Re: Being 'that guy'
Post by: lexitu on November 10, 2010, 11:05:12 pm
Hmm okay you should around that range, maybe at the lower end if it is a low A+.
