Gonna be attempting to synchronise permissions across all the state sites and national site in the next couple of days because they're all over the place at the moment

I'm not going to read any of that stuff in the Mod Forum, but if its true, I agree that its pretty disgraceful/tight/hypocritical/disappointing and I can see why some mods wanted to get rid of some threads. I'm not going to go into any further discussion on it though. It's really none of my business.

I don't think there will be many bans (unless someone goes and copies all the threads on Word and then sends them to Wikileaks ;D, or tries to upload them as Ancient Hebrew notes in the Notes section ;D x2), although some of the mods seemed to be taking this 'release' of information more seriously than others. If its just an accident, I don't see why there should be a ban. Its not our fault this happened and we shouldn't be banned for any accidental clicks.
But if we do, just grin and bear it. A permanent ban would be a bit excessive for an accident.

Where in the terms and conditions state that our email addresses would be shipped off to random American sites? This is a freaking invasion of privacy and I find it deplorable and absolutely unacceptable. They are not only cashing in on us, but also referring to us as 'suckers' and 'socially retarded' people.

This means that from now on, when in public, no moderator may disagree with another moderator or administrator on any non-definite issue. Of course, you may correct each other when one does a maths problem wrong or quotes syllabi incorrectly etc.
I particularly expect you all to agree with admins at all times. If you privately disagree with something, you may bring it up in this forum, but you may not discuss it with normal members or make any dissenting posts in public threads
This is rather insulting as well. Members who generally come here are pretty open minded. Allowing moderators to argue will enhance community relationship and further remove the hierarchy that you ADMINS are "trying so hard" to remove.

Well, I don't want to derail this thread too much, but if you study philosophy you realise pretty quickly that the idea of 'improving yourself' is complicated and sometimes problematic. If there were easy answers for moral improvement and so on, it wouldn't be a particularly interesting field.

Um, we knew from about this post onwards, thanks to vea. We were then contacted by a mod (I'm not going to name who it was), who then told us to edit our posts (or delete them) and play along (hence you can see that on the bottom of that and the next few posts). Then we (myself, ATAR, nacho, vea) just played along and tried to make it more serious (ie.by proposing that mods had removed some of the really bad shit, etc.), and it worked.
Great idea from Russ and the rest of mods/admins though. SO MUCH LOLZ ;D
