does anyone know why the "other" part of your itunes is so big?
the orange colored part :(

its taking up around 50MB of space on my pod and i have no clue why :(

50MB of a hard drive I assume is over 200GB is not much, you should be worrying about the bigger files. If its only 50MB leave it, id assume its important anyway.

Do you maybe have other files on your ipod?
Like sometimes I use mine as a USB because I keep losing mine ...

all the files automaticlly take up 50mb before i even put anysongs on it . its the games nad stuff.

well i only i have the 4GB colored nano...... so the memory is precious to me :p

nope... ive never used it as a usb.. just only ever had music on there and some photos but they get deleted automatically when i add more music and theres no room left for the photos so yeah ...

would album covers, lyrics contribute to the memory?

Album covers and lyrics do take up space. Album covers can take up quite a lot of space as well, depending on how many you have. Also the default games take up around 25mb and you can't get rid of them.

its 8gb does 5omb really matter that much???! LOL  but remeber when u bought ur ipod it was already a bit used up :O unmless u wannna delete ur games and stuff.

I believe it is the system files.
The operating system and preloaded games.
The operating system itself would be ~30mb (not sure).
The few mb's you could possibly free up would only allow a few photos anyway.

i dont think photos work; they only allow you to upload if you have a certain amount of memory left
