I've heard MIT is the best technical university and Berkeley is best engineering university.

you'd probs need 99.95 equivalent in america to get in there. Have i mind that theres heaps of unis acorss america and most are ranked pretty high. So imagine getting admission to the BEST UNI THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY LES PARTAYYYYY

Overall, Harvard is nearly always on top.

For individual areas, it can vary greatly. Harvard's no way near as good at the physical sciences as MIT or Cambridge, for example. And Oxford is extremely strong at humanities.
