reading the reviews of superfreakonomics, there are several mentions of books similar to freakonomics, either suggesting that they copied freakonomics or that the authors of freakonomics took the idea from someone else. What are some books similar to freakonomics that are well written, interesting and accessible for a high school student?

I heartily recommend anything by Steven Landsburg. He has a column on Slate, if you want a taste.

Logic of Life -- Tim Harford, but SuperFreakonomics is better.
