Firefox crash when printing

As above - whenever I try to print a web page, PDF or similar from Firefox, the browser crashes. Have tried resetting the "print.print_printer" string in "about:config", but to no avail. Does not seem specific to a particular physical printer. All my printers are installed correctly with latest drivers etc.

Suggestions? This wouldn't be a huge deal except I'm trying to print off my enrolment info to read at my leisure :)

edit: Google Chrome crashes too...

edit: I can "print" to the Adobe PDF converter without crashing, so at least this serves as a work-around. But then, why do virtual printers not prompt a crash, but actual printers do?
