I did mine with the RACV and thought it was very good. My instructor was an ex-tester for VicRoads, so he had plenty of hints if I ever needed them.

With times, he was also very flexible. I often had an early morning start, 7:30-8am where he'd pick me up at my house, and he would take me the long way to school, practise parking etc before leaving me at school.

But my parents paid, so I'm not sure how much it cost.

EDIT: costs

I paid for mine when I got a few lessons before my license and they're all expensive. Went with RACV just because they're RACV. What you should do is have him/her teach you how to pass the test from the very first lesson. Don't just drive around, say you want to do practice tests and learn the routes etc.

I'm using Sprint right now. They're just $35 if you're a concession and you can do your test with them.

Their website says they're cheap because you go to them instead of them coming over to you, but my instructor picks me up from my house.
