How would you setout the following, my matrices skills are moderate but worded equations always get me :(
Quote
Place the following sporting results in a suitable matrix format.

a)Carlton 15 goals 14 behinds 104 points defeated Adelaide 7 goals 10 behinds 52 points.

b)Melbourne Victory have played 13 games for 7 wins, 5 draws and 1 loss; they have scored 31 goals for and 18 against; thier point score is 26. Perth Glory have played 12 games for 4-4-4 their goals are 17-15 and thier point score is 16.
For a. would it be setout like this? (or am i way off?)

Hmm..I think you have to put them like this:
a).
[15  14  104]
[ 7   10  52]

(I can't be stuffed using matrices so imagine the square brackets as forming one big square brackets)

Each column can be thought of as a variable: eg: column 1 = #of goals, column 2 = # of behinds, column 3 = total score.
Thats how I interpreted the question. (I need someone to correct me if Im wrong)

for question b), the wording made my head hurt so Im not sure about that one.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated :)
yeah the question and wording isnt very specific so, talking to true tears, we decided that there are multiple ways of dsiplaying the given information, apparently questions like these will NOT be on the exam so i wont stress about them too much.
