know the course well
do 1 exam
see what you got wrong, note why you got it wrong:
- knowledge hole = open textbook, learn what you need to learn
- silly mistake = look at your mistake in the eye for 2 minutes and drill the fact that you will never make that mistake again. For example, in methods i said this 50 times over in my head "cos(pi) = 01"

Do another exam and repeat process
obviously the more exams you do the better,
but neever make the mistake of doing practice exams just for the sake of saying 'i did 30 exams..'
use them to learn from your mistakes only.

also, do them in exam conditions - essential if you want A+

For me, I just practiced areas that I knew I was having the most trouble in, such as theory and some bitchy accruals/prepaids.
Firstly, I did the questions relating to those ^ from past VCAA exams, then made sure I understood them before moving on.
To be honest, I didn't do much except for spamming prac exams in the last few weeks and made sure that I knew my theory adequately.
That's the great thing about Accounting, the more practice you do properly, the better you'll get and basically ensures a good score.

What i found was that generally the practical aspects of the exam were very straightforward and simple. The best thing i got out of practice exams (at least for unit 4) was the way to answer theory questions and getting used to exam conditions/timing and everything.

I did about 3 practice exams for the midyear last year, got an A (due to the way i answered theory questions)
I did about 15-20 practice exams for the end of years exam and got an A+.

*Edit* Also note that getting used to timing is really important. None of the practice exams i did for midyears were under exam conditions, whereas about 90% of the ones for EOY were.
Ended up just finishing my midyear exam just on time and finishing EOY exam in under an hour.

- Made sure I knew the course well and any tricky or likely questions to come up on the exam (summarised the unit)
- Did a few practice exams with no time limit, just to get used to the format and type of questions that would be required. Marked these exams and noted the structure of the suggested answers
- Then did another few (~10) exams in exam conditions. Left plenty of time afterwards to mark and note any mistakes.
