I didn't even know it existed throughout VCE. $2000 prize for doing a bit of study is very good motivation :P

Yeh, had multiple friends that got higher than me, including a 99.95er who didn't get it, yet I did. Hmm. Not sure about the specifics of how it works. Must be something about the fact that they only take raw scores perhaps. And yeh, nothing beats government-subsidised alcohol to kick start your uni life.

I think in my year you needed a raw aggregate of about 195 or something. Maybe a bit higher - I don't know too many people's scores, but I know someone who had <198 who got one. It really doesn't correlate directly to ATAR, because a lot of top scorers take subjects that are scaled.
