quick question do we think spesh will scale to 54 or53 from a 50?

It definately won't scale to 55 ( no subjects do). Although latin theoretically does, noone get the 50 in the first place.

i think 50--> 53?

thoughts"?

thats soo good.

but soooo unfair for everyone else.

i have to concede that a 50 in spesh is relatively easier than a 50 in french or german or a language.

teacher said 53, i think he might be right

quick question, for the golf ball distance, if you misread it and got 177 instead of 35, how many marks do you think you'd lose?

Thought that one mark questions don't get consequentials, if you don't get the integral right, they won't award the mark for evaluating it in the next question, otherwise people would just make up integrals to get the evaluation mark

People keep thinking it's going to scale up so mucc. It's only a mean of 3 higher. So it's likely jsut going to affect the middle more than in the high end, probs just 53 at most.

It doesn't have to ask for everything, it just clears up whether TP's etc are required. Endpoints and intercepts are normally implied when asked to sketch a graph.
They would have to ask for end points on the graph to be stated if they gave marks for it.

They don't explicitly state what every mark is allocated for in the question.
Well considering you had to draw the ellipse through the extreme points, on the gridlines, do you think you need to label them?

I did just in case, couldn't think of what the 4 marks would be for otherwise. They didn't say show working or anything so I labelled whatever I could. Never know though.

There were marks in there for finding the x intercepts because it is asked for you to write down the x intercepts.

2006 - Mean=40.63; SD=7.4; 30 went to 41; 50 went to 55
2010 - Mean=36.89; SD=7.4; 30 went to 38; 50 went to 52

If the mean were to increase by 3 and we leave standard deviation the same, wouldn't that mean 50 might scale up to 54?

For the golf ball question, don't you just minus the 177 from 200 to get 23m for the distance form where it lands to the hole?
How did you guys get 35 m?

use pythagoras' theorem.

the ball landed 25m horizontally and vertically from the hole.

so sproot(25^2+25^2) is approx 35m
