Fair assessment of the exam?

-The actual preparation of accounting reports was harder than previous years, there were quite a few more easy marks available i thought, but also a hell of alot more tricks to seperate the top students (especially involved with calculating prepaid expenses/revenue in certain questions)
-I didnt like the question about calculating other expenses, too much effort for only one mark and i wasted time i could have spent on putting more effort into the theories, reminded me of the last question on the methods part 1
-Theory questions were pretty standard, only really unusual one was the define 'trends in liquidity' question
-Exam was also much longer than previous ones, I personally ran out of time and wrote minimal responses for some theory questions

If you look at the 2007 paper.. You'll see how similar the 2 exams are..
I looked at that paper the morning before the exam so when I went in and saw the exact same questions. It didnt take me long to do the exam.

I guess it was a pretty long exam as some of my really strong friends almost didnt finish.. But I had about half an hour to spare in the end to refine all my theory and make sure my calculations were right.

it was a good paper overall i think.
it will seperate the top, possibly too long, maybe some of the questions were a bit tedious such as calculating other expenses.
but it didnt go like crazy, it was do-able in the time given. i think there were a good amount of tricks to test us rather than put us off completley.

once again good exam overall, just gnna wait a month now :]

Did you guys hear how Calesta Girls School got 2 hours instead of 90mins. The VCE timkeepers apparently stuffed up. What the hell is wrong with VCAA.

I thought that the exam was quite long - I only finished with 2 minutes to spare.  Some of the questions were definitely odd and on the verge of being outside the study design (eg. Calculation of Other Expenses - I thought VCAA said that we would never have to do any calculations involving ratios). Other than that, it wasn't too overly difficult.
