hey guys and girls!

I'm in year 11 this year, moving into year 12 in a short amount of time.
I was just wondering what you all did to cope with the 5 subjects and what you think brought you success.

alright, so did you guys study the 5 subjects everyday or break it down in to groups of 2 -3 subjects, alternating each day?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!  ;D

P.S. The subjects i'm doing are...

1. Accounting
2. Further Maths
3. Maths Methods
4. Chemistry
5. English (Mainstream)

For methods (and probably further as well), finish the course as quickly as possible - make sure you understand concepts well, asking an asian or a teacher does the job. Some things are difficult to actually understand, but with some guidance become really easy. Try to finish the course by the start of term 3 and do tons of practice exams. Questions in exams are far harder than those in the text book, and exam practice will make sure you can handle a variety of questions.

For accounting - prac is generally very easy except for a few things in unit 4; remedy this with practice...lol. Theory isn't overly difficult, but its where most people do shit. Every time you do a practice exam, and you struggle to answer or cannot answer a theory question, after finishing the exam, write out the question and write out a model response, and highlight the key points that your answer should include, you should always get that question right if it appears again

didnt do chem and going for like a 30 in english though; so no comment lol
Re: Silly things you did during the exam..

A person I know who got a high ATAR said he did 2-3 subjects and alternated

Make sure you do all the homework set for every subject even if you think it's not necessary.

For maths, make sure you start creating your bound reference during the year. Chances are, you won't use it during your exam at all, but the act of writing out what you've learnt that day into a book helps to consolidate it. Also, it acts as a good reference if you forget something when you go to study later.

Try and give yourself the weekends free. This won't be possible as exams/SACs approach, but at other times, it can be a good incentive to get your work done early if you have a fun weekend to look forward to.

If you get a part time job in the year, make sure you're not taking more than 1 shift a week. This can be challenging (one of the harder things I found about VCE) but it is definitely worth it.

For English, continual essay writing is key for achieving high scores. Just keep writing out essays and giving them to your teacher/other teachers to mark. You'll quickly find the quality of your writing improves. However, don't just write some shitty, sloppy piece to ease your conscience. You'd be better off writing nothing than that.

Chemistry... Just keep up with the workload. Seriously, don't fall behind and attempt the extra questions your teacher doesn't set for homework.
