Inspection

Hey,

So as university looms ever so closer I've brought it upon myself to find and rent a place in Geelong near the campus. So far I've been successful in booking inspections for 2 houses (waiting on a call-back for another 2) and I was wondering, seeing as some of you may have experience, what sort of things should I be taking note of while inspecting the properties? Obviously I'll be looking at size of bedroom/kitchen, no. of bathrooms, loungerooms, etc but what else will need attention? What sort of questions will I need to ask?

So far my list will include some of the questions here http://www.deakin.edu.au/studentlife/accommodation/off-campus/inspection.php, is there anything else we can come up with?

Thanks for the help!

- internet
- washing machine / other shit if they are included
- if the rooms are furnished
- if rent includes bills
- parking
- lease dates

I think the page sums it up pretty well. Did you apply to live on campus?

I have applied to live on campus and even though it would be more convenient/social/etc it is $450 a fortnight and I would barely be able to afford it, whereas there is a lot of student houses around the campus which are cheaper ($130-150 p.w) and still very close (across the road or 10min bus).
