The winners of the referral competition:

In first place with 380 points, Hercules wins the $100 ColesMyer gift card!
In second place with 330 Points, |ll|lll| wins the $70 ColesMyer gift card!
In third place with 189 points, gossamer wins the $40 ColesMyer gift card!

Due to the rampant cheating from no less than 10 individuals, this competition will not be repeated. I am deeply saddened by some of what transpired here.

It must be noted that the top 3 are still deserving winners, and have clearly worked hard to help refer as many members as possible and enrich the community.

If the top 3 placegetters could please e-mail their names and postal address to [email protected], their prizes will be mailed out ASAP

Wow, you can tell when people were cheating?

Sure glad I didn't.

Signing up from the same IP is a dead giveaway, although there are probably other ways.. :P

A big congratulations to the winners! The persistence in staying at the top 3 deserves an award itself.

It's not hard to change your IP address or to fake your location, though. If you're going to cheat, put effort in I say. Then you have some reason to deserving to win ;)

How about if somebody used proxies? I once rigged a poll by using http://www.proxy.org (list of thousands of different proxy sites).

Congratulations to the winners. I feel glad knowing that I got no less then 20 members signing up and hopefully we will see a load of new faces on the forums during the year. :)

Proxies are banned as soon as they're found

IP Addresses don't necessarily mean the person is cheating.  For instance, I signed up my brother who lives with me.

Obviously. We have other methods of checking, IP is just the first step
