The Biology tips thread suggested revision starting when you start Immunity or something. The minimum recommended practice exam count for each UNIT is 15 per subject.
Subjects
2012: English [37], Biology [41], Specialist Maths [33], Methods [39], Physics [37]; ATAR [94.65]
2013-2015: BSc. at UoM

There is no absolute answer for this. I knew "all of Unit 3" so to speak in the holidays. I didn't start practice exams until about a week before the exam for U3, but did 3/4 a day during that week. I don't recommend this, I was so sick of bio by the time the exam came. I suggest doing one a day starting about a month before the exam, doing 2 on saturday and 2 on sunday. That's what I did for U4 and that worked much smoother for me.

And you don't have to know 100% of the unit before you start the practice exams, you'll find that if you're doing exam questions while learning immunity in class will be beneficial.
