Tricky question about ASC

Um. i came across a question in my text book
"Can we experience NSC during ASC? Briefly explain your answer."

I'd say no, since you can only go into another state of consciousness. e.g being awake to day dreaming etc.

But i want to hear your responses to this question...

You can't be in both at the same time, only transition from one to another.

Yup, but also note that ASC is any state of consciousness which is different to NWC in terms of level of awareness, attention, etc. so just by looking at the definition of ASC you can see that you can't experience both at the same time.
