I highly doubt 1 person is responsible for building a bridge.

I highly doubt someone who "didn't pay attention in med school" would pass the course and hence, have an opportunity to do surgery...

Might go there and study med, wrote entrance exams LOL. If it works out and i get an offer from them, i might think about going.

how many times do people on this forum have to repeat to you that going overseas and studying medicine is a fucking bad idea, have you not read the news and spoken to overseas trained doctors who tell you how hard it is to pass the AMC exam. there are also further ramifications including the fact that hospitals may pick australian doctors in preference to you, so this is a bad idea

topics in medicine require much more hard work. longer course then eng, and if you don't pay attention in med school you could end up killing someone LOL.

what's so funny about this, i don't see why you're having a laugh about it.
topics in basically any course require hard work - there are certain people suited to different learning styles which will make certain subjects easier, but you can't generalise
also no, you kill someone because you don't know your shit, which means that you haven't read your books and you've bribed the uni into passing you or you're just scraping passes, which is undesirable. (note 1: don't infuse a patient with pure water, otherwise their cells will fill up with water due to tonicity and hence they will burst and your patient will die - courtesy of Chris Wright)

have you even done medicine or engineering, if not, how do you know which is harder?

I highly doubt 1 person is responsible for building a bridge.

I highly doubt 1 doctor can kill a patient, others will be there to assist and scrutinise your work in situations where it is that risky, unless you're plain stupid and do something which is completely out of the blue, in which case, i suggest you find another, more suitable career, such as being a journalist, so you can at least backspace your errors =.=

Surgery isn't the only way to kill someone (there are so, so many ways) / it's really not that hard to pass even if you don't pay attention in lectures

Why give attitude in your own thread? No one is obligated to answer any of your naive questions. Do you even briefly read any of the replies to your questions?

ngage I think you need start thinking about why you are choosing that particular pathway, you shouldn't try to study overseas just because it is easier to pass there because in medicine you have to do a lot of work! and therefore hard work is mandatory, you really need to start thinking more deeply about why you are choosing your career, do you like the job, do you see yourself doing it for the rest of your life, are you doing it just for the money, family pressure, recognition, sibling rivalry, etc. you need to have really good reasons for choosing a career pathway, so take time to think about these things and find a career which you like and enjoy, don't include silly factors such as which is more harder or which requires more responsibility because in the end these are things which people use to try and persuade people into thinking their career is more superior to other careers IMO, just like your friend did.

remember! it's your career, your life and ultimately your decision. so good luck.

Med entry question

I think this guy might have ulterior motives for sending students overseas...
