stuck on practice SAC :(

I was given a practice question  for my sac to practice, but was not sure how to include  metalanguage examples  throughout the essay  can you guys help me think of some examples to use.

"Informal language is more effective than formal at demonstrating a persons creativity and individuality"

for morphology i could talk about innovative lexemes ?
Phonology?
Semanitcs
Syntax - simple sentences as informality allows more flexibility to adapt to certain social situations ??

Don't stress too much about including ALL the subsystems. Some may be harder than others to include, but by all means strive to get as many examples across the board as possible.

You really want to establish what it is meant by 'informal' versus 'formal' language, and then HOW people express their creativity and individuality through language in the introduction. Take your time to plan this out properly. Then once you've figured that out, you can work your subsystems around your topic sentences if you like, but it's not the only option of course!

Can't think of much for Phonology.
Arguably a feature of non-standard Aust Eng is the high rise terminal or intonation. Whether or not this can be defined as 'informal use of language' is debatable.

You could say that text speak, all that domain, is DEFINITELY informal language usage. It defines a person. People that type (or God forbid say) "lmfao" a lot tend to be teenagers. Thus teenagers are defined by teenspeak which incorporates that whole body of juicy goodness from making up new words (neologisms), making everything into an acronym, changing word class (think "I googled it."), etc.

This is a very good point to stress for creativity. Allow me to elaborate. Taking a look at Urban Dictionary will show us that new words or even just taking the same words and using them in a different part of speech is constantly evolving and shaping the way we think about things and define things. Take a look on your Facebook newsfeed and you will find that plenty of hilarious jokes are made from plays on words or double meanings (semantic) that generate 1000s of hits on their pages. It's definitely a point worth considering for many of your essays to come. Popular questions for ELang essays come back to this point of today's language use declining thanks to the booming technology age. Perhaps my point made previously could be examples of how we are enhancing our knowledge of this awesome language.

sorry, i had to mention this... be really careful here as examiners still require you to "spell good".. practice is the noun but practise is the verb. americans are lazy and just use the "C" everywhere
