Did anyone sign up for Mr Wood? Was the $375 for emailing him worth it?

$375!? You serious? I signed up last year for the account where you can access the whole site and make comments. That was worth it, but I'm sure it was less than $375. If you feel the urge to email a question about economics, email your teacher! Or ask on this forum! Those are free (assuming you go to a public school :P... In any event, the latter option is free!) and just as good.

For anyone who finished in 2011, we pretty much got to email Mr. Wood by using the formspring thing in the first half of the year anyway :P But then people abused it :(

Yeah I just went back and checked- its 35 for the normal package. LOL what a massive difference- $35 and $375. I dont think its worth it, unless you email him literally everything you do.
Yeah who killed his formspring!?
I saw he'd posted some questions that someone had submitted going 'what is dis cee phi eye?'
Its quite funny, but I can understand how he'd get annoyed by that

Mr.Wood's MC questions are pretty dumb imo, in fact, most of his questions are just basic textbook ones.
I wouldn't bother subscribing/paying that massive amount for hokay-ish information.
As Chrisjb said, just ask ppl on the forum and we'll all help you out =)

There's no need to spend that much cash!

The website is pretty great; the articles are good to read and it's fun commenting/arguing in the comments section. Wouldn't really pay $375 just to be able to email him though... maybe consider getting a tutor if you want that kind of thing... I disagreed with him on a few things anyway :p

Worse than textbook questions, some are just ridiculous and clearly don't relate at all to the study design. But I reckon the little package where you get access all areas was worth it. That was only like $30 or something though.

Well said gents, some of his questions are totally irrelevant. He asks questions about different departments amongst the ACCC - It's a joke. To be honest, his webpage isn't exactly amazing, I didn't pay for mine my school did, but I personally don't think it be worth it.

Aww, it's not that bad. He puts a lot of work into the site. My teacher REALLY utilised the site (we had to do four pages a week), he would mark all our short answers and we also had to make at least one comment on an article a week, so for us it was worth it I suppose. I still found commenting probably one of the best aspects of year 12 economics - way better than actually studying :p

Hi this year I'm doing Eco 1&2 and I've just been looking at mr. Wood's site and it looks pretty good. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me whether or not it would be beneficial for me to sign up for an account even though I'm just doing units 1&2 this year?

I'm doing pretty well already (90% in last SAC) but for $35 if it would help me get that extra 10% better I guess it would be worth it. Basically I want to know whether it has some helpful content for units 1&2?

Thanks alot.

I think it's more useful for Units 3&4. He has great articles about real world events and how they relate to economic concepts.
