Facebook selling its shares.

So I'm a first year commerce / economics uni student, and I find Facebook's IPO an interesting issue.

To other commerce students (especially TrueTears) / anyone in general, what do u think about Facebook's future? Was the IPO a good move or not? Personally, I didn't think that they did too well, considering that after the first day of trading, they only gained 23 cents from the IPO of $38. But hey, I'm a jaffy, and I don't know a lot about these finance things.

Yeah i reckon it's pretty interesting esp since we were just learning about IPOs in finance! Altho im not too sure on how they'll go and how it will affect them lol
Should be interesting tho, i wouldnt mind buying a few shares just to say 'I'm an owner of facebook' altho I'd only own 0.05% or something minute :P

It's really not that hard to quantify..., but I believe that being raped once is not as bad as being raped five times, even if the one rape was by a gang of people.

If the Facebook founders expect there to be more money in other business projects and possibly Facebook maybe to fall within half a decade or so then the IPO would be a good move for them lol.
Do you think you will be playing FarmVille in 5 years? I personally wouldn't know because I don't use Facebook much.

But even if it does flourish then there is (probably) a higher potential for other projects to flourish even more as innovation hits the streets.
So it may actually be a good move.

I think they also took the opportunity to tax dodge in some areas, which has a potential to change in the future as laws etc. change.

It seems like it would be a really hard task considering all the hype that shareholders showed.
