Hello! AT a low pH, I'm confused as to whether serene or glutamic acid will the furthest using gel elecyrophoresis. Glutamic acid has the greate charge, but is also the heavie molecule!

well, it depends as to whether the glutamic acid has an overall postive charge or negative charge. if its negatively charged and serene is neutral, the glutamic acid would probably move further than the serene. if theyre both neutral, serene will surpass glutamic acid. and if glutamic acid is positively charged, not only would serene exceed it, but the glutamic acid probably not move at all! :D

At a low ph, both glutamic acid and serine have a positive charge. Glutamic acid is +2 and serine is +1. Srine is the lighterr molecule though.
