As for your stupid comment about a 50 atar Hancock, well that's bull.

Obviously it was sarcasm. No one is going to drop 30 - 45 ATAR scores (don't know how smart you are) because they miss two days.

Relax! :) Missing two days is hardly a big thing, just inform your teacher beforehands, it won't be a problem.

And as for the 50 ATAR comment, was OBVIOUSLY a joke!

The idea of missing two days of school being consequential is ridiculous. I have an 85% attendance record due to somewhat chronic illness + extra-curriculars and it hasn't affected me at all. Plenty of people that I know seem to be absent all the time too. Just make sure you aren't missing any SACs and get a note from your folks.

Yeah, please do not stress over 2 days of school. In Year 9, I got the opportunity to go on a 'once in a lifetime' trip to Italy and France, which consequently meant I missed 5 weeks of school. I know it was Year 9, but I was still expected to pass all assessments and the end of year examination. I took no work with me and had the time of my life and made sure I worked hard once I had returned. I still achieved 85+ on all assessments. :P

I missed more than 2 days of school in year 12 :P

I should add that they were for extra curricular activities though before someone jumps at me after reading a certain article in a certain upcoming magazine ;)

Honestly I don't see why this thread has dragged on for so long :P

1) If you don't have a SAC on those two days, you'll be fine

2) If you happen to be misfortunate enough to have a SAC, you're in a little bit of shit, which you'll need to sort out before you go of course :P

I don't understand the point of this thread. If you have a chance to go on a "once in a lifetime" trip, and considering not going because of 2 days of school, which is 8 hours of study (if that due to mucking around in class an such) it must not be a big trip. Sorry for sounding like a dick, but please go on your trip and study some other time. I went on an overseas performing trip with my school for a month in year 11 (I know it's different from year 12), but I could still make it up by doing some study before hand and during the trip. You can too. Don't miss out on this experience because of something that you can make up quite easily. My 2 cents.

i completely agree!
don't stress over it
get the work from ur  teachers well before u leave. read through ur textbook and complete it in advance.
ask a friend to write down key points mentioned in that class or just ask the teacher to email it to u [believe it or not, teachers do actually plan the info they need to tell u!]
when you get back, if u are still really concerned, arrange a lunch time session to catch up with ur teacher on what  u missed.
but seriously, don't waste time stressing urself out over nothing.
in the time u spend reading this thread u could have completely the work
good luck!
