When should you start going really hard and studying for end of year exams? 8-10 weeks before?

10 weeks is more than enough imo.

You start studying for exams on the first day of Year 12.

8-10 hours before, of course.

But seriously, I started studying for my exams a week or two before.

When you go hard is dependent on you ofcourse. I reckon it's important to make sure you don't reach your peak too early (i.e. know everything too soon) otherwise you get bored and don't perform at your best in the exam (think of this as a bell curve). Also, it's not good to burn out too soon. So, I don't think there is a direct answer to your question..!! :P

I think it depends on the subject and how you have performed in the year, if you have a lot to work on in a subject then obviously you'll probably choose to study that earlier.
2012-2014. BSc: Neuroscience. University of Melbourne.
2015-2018. Doctor of Optometry. University of Melbourne.

Unlikely to respond to any PMs these days.

It depends where you are, generally - the better you are at the subject, the more time you can spend on prepping for exams
