Crucible thread!

Hey all! Who's doing the Crucible? There's so much going on in this play it's a bit hard to get my head around it.

So I'm reading along and going over notes... my question is why did Tituba accuse Sarah Good and sarah Osburn? when Tituba is a slave herself?? what motivated her to call them out and lie?

Please post any other questions or opinions on this thread! it'd be great to talk about! Thanks :D

i did it when i was in year 12 and i have been teaching it for the past two years.

the thing you gotta remember with the crucible that whilst its a little difficult to imagine something like that happening now, it was a very insular community. scandal in a place like that will last forever and ever.  tituba accused sarah good and osburn because she wanted some of the spotlight to go off of her. she wanted to save herself and so instead she put the blame on other people. which is what abigail and the other girls also do but to a far greater degree. tituba is essentially playing the blame game to try and get out of it or to bring other people down with her.

does that make sense?
