Diplomas concurrent with degrees [query]

How do we enroll in a diploma as well as our degree/double degree?
-How difficult is it? (I recognise the subjectivity here.)
-Are the lists of diplomas on VTAC comprehensive? I know that there is a Diploma of Language(s), however I can find  this on VTAC course search.
I'm just going to do one for fun. At the moment I'm thinking language, Math, Psychology, something to do with the justice system (if it can be called that) or perhaps something to do with English/English Lit, however I think a lot of my Uni subjects will be along the English lines.
Also, negative/positive experiences of a concurrent diploma welcome. :)

Difficult? I'm not sure what you mean.

You still do a standard 4 subject semester like everyone else. It's just that you're there for an extra year (typically) to make up for it.

Better off checking the website of the university.

Oh okay, I was under the impression that you'd have an extra work load. Sorts out the difficulty question then. Is it like you do your undergrad, and at the end of the (eg.) three years you do a fourth year comprised entirely of your diploma? Or you do one diploma subject a year, and the other three subjects pertaining to your degree?

I can only speak for Melbourne Uni but it's probably the same/very similar at other unis I'd imagine. It didn't have anything to do with vtac. I applied after I got accepted into my course and then got accepted into the diploma (of languages). I don't think it's any more difficult doing a diploma than not doing one. I do three subjects from my degree and one diploma subject per semester which lengthens my course to four years.

Thanks for your response Clair :)
Did you follow on with a high school language or pick one up afresh?

Followed up from high school and did the language in VCE. You don't have to start the diploma in first year, you can do the subjects as part of your degree e.g. as breadth and cross credit them.

For monash i read that you have to get approval from your faculty (assuming its not arts) and was wondering what the chances of them rejecting your request to get accepted to do a dip. of language? why exactly do we have to get approval anyway?
