just need some help with this question

Creating transgenic organisms is and example of technological evolution requiring knowledge, skill and precision. Explain how biological and cultural developments in humans have impacted upon our ability to be able to accomplish this specific technological advancement.

thanks

Wow.. it's been a year since I've done this... but I'll give it a shot....

For cultural evolution (graual change in ideas, skills, customs), I would say:
-Moral values (behaviour)- just because we've gone from such a religious society to a more tolerant one that has allowed the gradual expansion of our scientific knowledge

-technical skills- particularly with schooling, etc

-language, ideas, concepts- allow us to pass info from one generation to another

For biological:

-opposable thumb

-larger/complex brain (I don't know if you have to talk about it but at uni they ask us to specifically refer to the evolution of specific lobes for complex problem solving, etc)

Hope this helps :)

Just to add to what ggxoxo said:

cultural evolution:

- Scientific knowledge has become so advanced that this creation of transgenic organisms has become physically possible. Humans have culturally evolved from basic scientific knowledge to what they can do now.
- Communication is now physically possible to have ideas transferred between the scientific community.

Biological evolution:
- Development of a complex and much more capable brain to actually think and come up with such a magnificent process (creating these transgenic organisms).
