My teacher always says "you need to provide a deeper analysis", what does she mean by this? and how can incorporate more of this in my essays. How can improve my grammar and a use of more complex and sophisticated words?

I thought metalanguage was part of English Language but I guess it includes similes and metaphors etc

metalanguage is more useful for some topics than others.
If it doesn't fit in, don't force it in, or else it will clearly look like you're trying to make yourself good by putting in unnecessary syntax
