Number of practice exams?

Considering units 3 and 4 are now combined, how many exams (total) have you guys done, or plan to have done before the exam? Of course everyone says it's about quality not quantity, but I'm sure quantity counts for something (if not just for confidence).

what I've done is neap (12exams), the TSSM 2013 exam and the insight 2013 exams, i've sat all the VCAA ones from 2004... I ve put all my mistakes and ways to improve my expression in a log book, this weekend had been spent looking at gaps in my knowledge. I will be dong all the VCAA exams before the exam to learn from my mistakes. Hope this helps.

Quantity < Quality

Don't worry about how many you've done. Its more how you improve!

Just do them until you can finish them early consistently, and yielding results you are happy with. (No major errors, mainly just silly mistakes etc....

Thanks for the input guys. Hopefully by the exam I'll have done about 30 (15 of each unit). I was really hoping to do well in bio this year (high 40s) but I'm not sure if it's possible anymore. Underestimated the workload, but I suppose most people are the same. Irving4Prez, 55 already is insane, hope you do well. Anyone know of people (or yourself) who did not that many practice exams but still did really well? Looking for some glimmer of hope...

My friend did 20 per unit and got a 49.
As long as you fix up your errors and learn to express yourself coherently you can do well.
I find that marking the exam is just as important as doing them, as you can see where you went wrong and learn how to word your answer to gain full marks
Quality > Quantity
2013: Biology [47]

2014 AIMS: English (37)    Methods (37)    Business Management (30)    Chemistry (40)

2015 AIMS:
Applied Science/Physiotherapy Practice at La Trobe

Feel free to PM me about Bio or anything :)

Quality > Quantity

This. Exactly right! You need to use the exams to actually find out how you can increase your chances of maximising marks through actually correcting & polishing your expression, especially for the short-answer component!

Quality > Quantity is the best way to go!

The way you mark your paper is much more important than racing to finish as many exams as possible.
Mark your answers harshly and don't give yourself marks that you don't deserve (pretend your a grumpy VCAA examiner!)
Go over all the mistakes and masonruc's logbook approach is really good in my opinion.
Currently tutoring Business Management [50].  Spots open for 2015

I have nothing else to do as I've completed neglected my 1,2 subjects. But after 30-35 past exams, my marks are generally the same :)

This is the same with me. I started scoring relatively high scores after about 30 exams and my marks are now relatively stable (occasionally I do a NEAP exam and its just horrible) haha!

Dw, you can catch up on year 11 after exams are done! :)
