Hi, my family friend is studying Design at Monash. She tells me that she absolutely loves what it contains, but says its a crapload of work compared to some of her friends in first year in other courses. But she told me that if you love something, like she does with this course, then the workload isn't so bad. Good luck  :)

Design will and has always been about "a crapload" of work. I remember doing my 1st bachelor in arch. Studies and comparing it to my mate who was doing a b.comm - and was already thinking "fuck me - im in the wrong field".

As for monah design - it is a relatively new course compared to the other design schools out there, but I have heard nothing but good things from past and present people in the industry (especially architects/interior designers).

thanks guys for the feedback do you happen to know if you/friend got an atar of 70 for monash as well as fulfilling the other requirements (interviews) because i have done all that except im worried i wont get a 70 im expecting something in the 60's and im wondering if monash accept people with a lower than 70 atar. My preferences are rmit monash and swinburne, comm design.

Tbh, im not sure what the atar pre-req for the design courses are (unless they are published). However, I do recommend applying to as many design schools as you can because your expected atar may be on the borderline.
