Just an idea: what about a drawing tool so we can post simple drawn diagrams or pictures? For instance, someone could just use the mouse to draw a little tree instead of finding a picture on Google Images.

That might be a pain to implement in the coding level but there might be plugins in the PHP which cleaning implements the drawing feature.

Cool idea. David's super busy with the UMAT coding stuff but I'll put this in the to-do-when-not-so-busy list :)

Sounds like a cool idea but what's wrong with a quick MS paint job and uploading it as an attachment?

Nothing wrong, just that probably takes longer and fewer people would want to waste time opening the attachment, waiting for it to load, then quitting when they've finished looking.

I can't seem to find anything like plugins for SMF... But that was a 10 second google..

Can I ask why though? Would it be used enough?

I find it's hard to draw basic things with a mouse even on paint sometimes!

Its nice to use a diagram to explain math problems for example and you could even use it to write down a whole model solution by hand rather than having the pain of using LaTeX.

Many people, including me, have tablets or touch-screen laptops

Not sure if there's anything out there ready-made to be implemented into a forum. I have seen some similar Flash apps on forums for diagramming, but not quite in this context. In the meantime, http://draw.to/new and http://www.drawzit.com/
