Labour day public holiday

hi,

my biology lecture planner says that there is a lecture next Monday which is supposed to be Labour day. Doesn't the uni also have a holiday?

Nope, we don't get all public holidays off, as not all public holidays are university holidays. My sister even had an exam on Melbourne Cup day a few years back.

For UoM these are the days you get off -> http://www.unimelb.edu.au/unisec/PDates/holidays.html
For Monash (for others who are reading this) these are the days you get off -> http://adm.monash.edu.au/human-resources/calendar/holiday-closedown.html
