UoM Commerce Double Major

Hey guys,

I'm planning to do a B.Com (Honours) in Finance at UoM, but I've recently read you can do a double major.

What are the benefits of doing a double major, and is it worth it?

Are Finance/Economics and Finance/Accounting majors worth investigating, or are they just a plain waste of time?

Thanks

Double Major is normal.
Personally I wouldn't look beyond the following combos

Finance/Economics
Finance/Accounting
Finance/Marketing

Depends on what you want to do.

Finance/accounting would be by far the most popular and complimentary dbl.
Finance/eco is IMO the most useful (partiularly if you are looking at the finance sector) - but a lot of kids are turned off by it due to the fact an economics degree has no official acceditation and therefore is not a fall-back safety net option (like accounting is)

Not familiar with any of the other majors so Cant comment about them.

BTW relevant work experience or a background in mathematics (ie. an engineering/mathematics degree); combined with a finance major will easily put you at a massive advantage over any kid with just a commerce dbl major. (IBs/MCs adore kids with a good quant. background).
