'It is
difficult to
possess a sense of
belonging when we are
unsure of our own
identity'.
Well I am not studying that book, I did that context last year, so here are a few ideas based on the prompt. I recommend to highlight key words in the prompt and draw ideas from the by questioning it or sourcing an idea based of the words (exploring the prompts possible ideas).
The word 'difficult' and 'belonging' can be coupled and maybe a paragraph could be written about how it is difficult to gain a sense of belonging due to a clash of views, sprinkling the prompt in addition with implicit and explicit textual evidence (I prefer quotes for explicit evidence).
A second idea about being 'unsure' of our 'identity', you could discuss how it is difficult to learn about our identity due to the large amount of advertising we are exposed to and how we are told what is 'right' and 'wrong' through this advertising. This 'advertising' may cause a clash of our ideas and may cause difficulty in determining what our views and values are. Again sprinkling the prompt throughout the paragraph (changing its words).
A third potential idea could be, that if we express our individuality and identity we can belong and have a sense of belonging with people that are similar to us and hold similar views and values.
I hope these ideas helped you out!
