How important is our unit 3 sac marks? (Legal)

Hi guys, I'm doing legal studies this year and for unit 3 I gained a sac score of 86/100.
This score is obviously not very good and knowing legal is such a competitive subject (ie. people from other schools get like near perfect marks- I know it gets scaled and stuff by vcaa but my rank is still quite low), is there still a chance for me to get a high 40?

From what I hear unit 3 marks should not affect me if I do well in the end of year exam, is that true? Or are my chances of getting a high 40 in an extremely competitive subject like legal gone?

Thanks in advance!

Your sac marks don't not matter as much as your rank in your cohort does. You want to place yourself within the top 3 of your cohort and Although your sac marks are good even to the point you can get a 40+ study score. Unit 3 and 4 are worth 25 % each and the exam is worth 50%. If you do really well in the exam (drop a couple of marks) then you are bound to get a high study score (40+).
