UMAT scores

So, after reading some stuff on the UMAT, i found out that you get a score out of 100 for each section and that 195 was required last year for Monash

Is this score your percentile rank for that section or something else? It seems weird that getting  65th percentile in each section would be 95th percentile overall...

I recently got 84/52/79 for my first medentry exam, what does that mean?

Any clarification is appreciated.

Not true, you can get over 100 for a section. No-one knows what it is out of, ACER is a magical being.

Nope again :P It was 195 in 2011, it was 191 last year.

Something else. As I said, ACER is magical. So to clarify, a score of 65 =/= 65th percentile.

I recently got 84/52/79 for my first medentry exam, what does that mean?

That is your score for each section. I have no idea how medentry came up with those if they're not percentiles.

I don't think it was 191 last year.  It was more like 194 ([upper] 94%tile).  I got a friend who got 94%tile but with a 193 score.  He didn't have interview offer.

Thanks for clearing some of the stuff up,

Just based on speculation, does that mean that, for a 95, we need around 80-90 percentile in each section?

It's hard to say, just do the best you can :) It's quite hard to "aim" for 80-90 on each section as you don't know what that means in terms of a raw score.
