Studying and revising

Hey guys,

So basically should I be revising over my notes and everything we have gone through at least once a week?
I know this may sound like a stupid question, but I tend to forget things that we did the previous term because of not regularly revising. Hence, cramming before exams is required.

It seems even revising for 30 mins/subject/week should limit the amount of cramming required.

Because I am only in year 10, would this be a sufficient means of studying? And how are you guys studying/revising in year 11/12?

Thanks :)

I would say revise as much as you feel comfortable with. If you go over your notes as well as doing your homework, just a little bit each work then it will help you a lot in the long run. I didn't revise much last year and still did really well but I felt like I was cramming a lot into a very small time frame when exams came up. This year in year 11 and some year 12 subjects if I don't revise every now and then I will forget a lot and it just adds to the stress of vce. Everyone is different but if you have the time then I would say yes, revise a little each week and the time really depends on what subjects you are doing. Some you might need to revise after every lesson. For me I get tons of homework but I revise as much as I can and for Japanese, everyday.

For me, it varies on subject. Subjects where you write lots of notes (HHD, Psych, etc) I write my own summaries after each class, then put them into an app called flashcardlet and revise when I'm going places, to school, sport practice etc.

It really depends on how you're going in your different subjects.
I'm currently doing.. a few maths subjects, so I find that I don't need to revise many of the math related things because I practice them so often, there's even a bit of crossover between the subjects. So I don't put much time "revising" for my maths.

More theory based subjects may take more revision, I'm finding English Lang is taking a lot of revision for me, as there are lots of different terms I have to remember...

Are you doing a Yr11 subject?

Ah cool, I know a lot of people doing Biology or have done it earlier.

Pretty much love english language, I know I am having more fun in it than if I was in normal English..
