Absolutely nothing!

Not at all - technological and cultural advancements often occur because of war.  Many attribute China's decline from the 16th century onwards to the fact that it kind of just fell into a long period of peace.  As Polonium said, war is obviously not desirable generally, but it sure as hell isn't totally futile as well.

Absolutely. Most economists attribute the recovery post Great Depression to the technological advancements made during WWII.

I was reciting part of the song but alright.
I wouldn't attribute the advancements made during such periods to war as I feel that these advancements were not made because of war but, rather because of the expectations of the time. They needed to have these advancements because of the situation that they created and not as a result of the event, war, that is, itself.

Nope - a lot of advancements are made because of the specific need to overcome the enemy in battle. See for instance the radar. It's not circumstances, it's the need to gain an advantage in terms of power, knowledge, efficiency etc which counts.

Personally, I've given up the idea that Peace can be achieved; but if anyone is willing to put in their view points, I would love to hear it and explain their reasons :)!

I just went to a talk by the Dalai Lama today and he talked about this exact thing a bit. He said peace can be achieved if everyone choose to fix problems through dialogue without resorting to violence, while acknowledging that even in a perfect world problems would occur but it's the way these problems are dealt with would be the determining factor. Very interesting man.

There is no way we attain peace with war..thats like having sex for virginity..perhaps some of you have heard the latest incidents in Turkey..police using excessive power, illegal groups rioting etc..Whereas this man here..just standing..all he does is standing...No rioting, no excessive power...This is a clever way of attaining peace!

Nothing wrong with rioting. Internal political violence. At the end of the day, even democracy is a societal construct. Power can only be executed with the ability to use force.

Besides, what's the issue with using war to obtain peace? Peace is something which you gain, while "losing your virginity" is not something that is reversible.
