n(BaSO4) =m/Mr
               =9.32/233.3
               = 0.0399mol

All sulphate came from the copper(II) sulphate hydrate.

n(BaSO4) = n(CuSO4.5H20) = 0.0339
m(CuSO4.5H2O) = m.Mr
                          = 0.0339*249.54
                          = 9.97grams

mass silica = sample - copper(II) sulphate
                 = 16.63-9.97
                 = 6.70grams.

This seems a little high, but according to the calculations is correct.
