What is STAT, and why haven't I heard off it until now?

Ok, so I was looking up UA dentistry when I realised that STAT was a requirement...now I have already done UMAT so is this any different from UMAT?
Also, how important is this test in my entry considerations? Please tell me its like the GAT...-_-

Seems pretty important. It's not too late to take the test apparently with the last possible date being 30 november to guarantee 2014 course consideration. http://www.uac.edu.au/stat/

Apparently it's not neccesary most of the time if you are a current yr 12 student. Maybe you should contact the institution and ask them? Or post a link to the course page and people here could have a look.
