Pick up 3/4?

Sooo my timetable clashed (again) so I missed out on revs and instead got literature.

How hard is it to pick up? I already do English language and love it. I'm more of a humanities/English based person but lit doesn't really interest me all that much.
It's this or whatever else is on at the time, but I'm not interested in anything else either.

So what would I have to do to do well without any knowledge of 1/2.

Gah always me that gets stuffed around. Ah wells
Thanks

1/2 is basically just 3/4 where you have the oppourtunity to make mistakes. A few people in my class this year are doing 3/4 w/out 1/2 and they're doing better than some of the kids who were in my 1/2 class. You'll be fine, just make sure you read the books. (Yes, start now.)

What about all the stuff I've missed? Techniques, formats of different essays etc. ?

You haven't missed nearly as much as you think you have. Most lit classes are just roundtable discussions of the texts (at least for my class). There is no real 'format' for a lit essay. I think the only major detriment you'll have is maybe your ability to analyse poems will be a little rusty - but you should go over poetic techniques as a class anyway, within the first couple of weeks.
If you're really worried, pick up a copy of Insight's Literature for Senior Students. It might actually be on your text list.

If you consider yourself an English/humanities person, you'll be fine. And I can guarantee you'll find Lit interesting once you start! (: If you're still concerned, maybe consider tutoring over the summer holidays just to bring you up to speed with the practices and skills developed in year 11 that carry over to year 12.

Yeah it's on my booklist, as well as Dark Roots, Cats Table and Bacchae and Other Plays. Has anyone read these?

Thanks guys. :)
