Hey there!

What tips and advice would you people want to share on how to study for History Revolutions in Year 12, how to manage time and memorise facts on top of other demanding subjects, what resources to use, and what we should do during the summer holidays to prepare for next year?

Thanks!  :)

- Start reading ahead in the summer holidays in addition to your holiday homework
- Start compiling your own set of notes from day 1 and add to them during/after every lesson so you don't get behind
- Stick time lines up around your room- make sure you know in what order events happened
- Flash cards and notes are useful for memorising information, I made some with the significance, causes, brief overview and historians opinions for main events
- Might seem obvious but make sure you understand everything as you go and don't just memorise it
- Do lot's of practice questions- some of the topics are similar, for example the essay questions for Russia but you should be prepared for vcaa to throw anything at you.

The first thing you want to do is get a good understanding of the content and then you can add to your knowledge as you go. I'd also recommend regularly revising  your notes so that you don't forget things and it makes it a lot easier come exam time.

I actually do not recommend doing too much holiday prep for revs- it is a complicated subject and you're best served keeping up to date with your teacher's guidance. Watch some docos on your revolutions on youtube (they are lol and not historically accurate but give you a good idea), read your textbook if you're super keen..
