Block definitely, but this doesn't mean that you can't take quotes from other sections of the article. In fact, if you use the block technique and are able to seamlessly use quotes from other parts of the article, then it shows the assessor that you really do understand what the article is about, and what the author's purpose is.

Guys, please keep the "we're in the same school" humour to Facebook :P

To answer the OP: there is no one style that will be better, and  that's the honest truth. What matters is how well you demonstrate a perceptive analysis of the way written and visual language can be used to persuade a target audience -- that is, how well you hit the criteria. Why style is best to do that will often be the style you feel most comfortable writing in :P.
I usually approached mine chronologically but still discussed how language interrelated throughout the article. So it was like half chronological, half argumentative, and half all over the place. That's right, I had three halves.

It isn't always better to follow the article chronologically, simply because of the word 'always'. There's never going to be an "always" type thing (except for you should always hit the criteria). It just depends on how you feel you can best demonstrate your analytical skills.

Have fun on AN :)
But not too much fun, or I'll cut you.

Brencookie.

What's the difference between block or hybrid anyway? We have only been taught one way to write them pretty much

Lang anal is a spur of the moment kind of thing. I would not recommend writing too man throughout the year, as you want to stay fresh etc. Format it however it works best (this will be different for every article). Just make sure you have a good intro and conclude by evaluating the effectiveness of the writer in persuading their target audience. Most kids forget this crucial step, and let me tell you, examiners salivate over it

Eh, scored well without a conclusion at all. (Non-deliberate, don't follow in my footsteps)
