Round offers??

So I don't understand exactly how round offers work.. I know the dates off by heart but no idea how to go about accepting/declining them.. i've heard so many different things!

So if jan 17, i get an offer but its not my first preference, do i accept anyway in case i don't get my first pref?
And if i accept, does that mean i dont get a second round offer?
i don't know what to do, i'm scared that i will give up the chance to get into a good course because i didn't get THE course..
help?!

relax...
If you get an offer, you have two options:
-You either accept it by completing an online enrolment..Or you may not do your enrolment..In that case, you'll be automatically considered for the second round :) All the best

You should always, always accept the offer you get. Accepting an offer does not stop the offer making process for you. You are still able to receive offers for courses higher up on your preference list. If you receive a first round offer for your #4th preference and accept, you are still eligible (although it can be unlikely) to receive offers for places #1-3. All unused spots from round 1 are pushed to round 2.

If you decline any offer in round 1, there is no guarantee you will get it again in round 2.

I suggest you read through the VCAA booklet (http://www.vtac.edu.au/pdf/publications/abcofoffers.pdf).
